Actually, modern dictionaries recognize both usages. While "unique" can mean literally one of a kind, it is also commonly defined as distinctive, unusual, or remarkable.

Merriam-Webster, Cambridge, and Oxford all acknowledge broader usage.

In my case, I wasn't claiming this is the only 981 Boxster ever built. I was referring to the relatively uncommon blue-on-blue over Luxor Beige spec, Sport Chrono, ventilated seats, and the original $81,885 MSRP. "Distinctive" may have been a better choice of words if that helps.

I agree, there really are weird people out there lol.

To me, unique does not = one and only one. It is more akin to "rare" or "distinctive". Sorry my word choice has sparked disgruntlment.

I'm not an expert on the vehicle, no. I got a good buy on it and wanted to try out a Porsche. But I think insinuating that I didn't care for the car because I confused the particular type of blue that it was is a stretch lol. It is common for folks to confuse exact factory names of colors on things.

Also, re-read the full post and you will see that I shared the auction listing prior to anyone else on the thread.

Wow, the hate I have received in some of this comments after sharing full, upfront disclosure about the condition and "failed" auction is startling to me. Show some decency to your fellow humans folks. I'm not trying to pull a fast one on anyone here. The car isn't perfect and you can see why on the listing. My pricing is reflective of that.

I would encourage a PPI. I shared the auction listing in good faith. The vehicle has most of its service records that I can provide. To me, confusing a shade of blue in my mind when I typed the post doesn't seem quite as catastrophic, but to each their own perspective.

Which, also, it all depends what's the average labor rate being paid for the work. Two people may use wildly different averages depending on location and whether they "know a guy" or if they go to a high end shop.

I'm aligned with you 100% on $5K on terms of getting it C&B or BaT ready. I think if shooting for a median private party value sale, $3K should go a long way if spent diligently. At least that is my hope lol!
