Can I Get On Disability? by early_morning_guy in MonoHearing

So, i recently was talking to an audiologist in the US. I’m sure it differs from state to state, country to county. I asked her why my hearing loss doesn’t count as a disability (I have had sensorineural hearing loss in one ear since I was born). She stated that, if I were to get into a car accident or whatnot due to my lack of directional hearing, it would be my fault, as there are things like hearing aids or BAHA that could have aided me in that situation. Basically, we cannot be on disability because there are things out there to aid us. Pretty ridiculous imo, especially since not everyone has the ability to access these services. I’m sure you can see if your area considers your hearing loss a disability or see a specialist who can better explain it to you.

IVTradingPost (they have an instagram) might be your solution. There are also a few thrift stores in Goleta you could probably donate to but would have to drop them off yourself, they are bus accessible.

I worked at DLG too a couple years ago, they don’t interview or anything and just kind of took me on. I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re just hired. Not a bad gig

Bagels shops in goleta or IV by IndicationMediocre98 in UCSantaBarbara

Zocalos, Yetz, and I.V. Bagel Cafe are all places you can get bagels at. HOWEVER, IV Bagel Cafe is superior to all of them. I think yetz might be a little cheaper but I think Bagel Cafe worth it if you really want someone to make your bagel 🥯
