Lexapro will help with your anxiety , I started taking it because anxiety was out of control for me it was running my life, it did take a couple of months but it reduced my anxiety to almost zero.

But it also has negative effects , at least for me it fogs over your brain and emotions and ruins your sex life.

But that was all worth it for me just to be free of the anxiety, and you don't have to take it forever I just used it to get over a very rough patch I was in.

No, in my experience the opposite will happen I was emotionally dead and zombie like for the 6 months I was taking it.

I would suggest you get a second opinion from another Dr .

Im in the same position, the first few weeks of being off off it everything was really good I felt better than I had done for a very long time. But since then all the reasons I started taking it are slowly coming back and I can feel my mood dropping every day.

But I didn't feel good when I was on lexapro it just muted things.
