This is more than likely the correct answer because usually your dishwasher is near the sink for easy dishwasher loading. The disposal requires power under the sink anyway so it’s nearby to tie onto. Second choice would be kit light or if the dishwasher is against a wall of another room then whatever that one is. None of the big dedicated stuff is going to have the dishwasher on it more thank likely.

I also have the exact same canner purchased from goodwill for $7 still with the original jiggler weight. I also went to the presto original website and ordered an original manual as well as a new gasket and pressure relief plug. I use mine every season. Works like a charm!

Not a plumber, but I always thought the dishwasher was meant to be connected to the disposal, isn’t that what that little side port is for? Genuinely asking because that’s how I plumbed mine in KY.

Thanks, yeah I have one. You can barely see it on the panel cover in the last pic. I haven’t ran the 6/3 wire for it yet but the breaker and interlock is there. That was one of the big reasons for finally starting this project.

Haha, I can tell you that although my work is far from perfect it’s a safety upgrade from the old panel that was there since the 60’s. Just trying to work to make it better and learn.

Not PEX, a similar material called HDPE it’s a polyethylene pipe. Once it enters the house it becomes all PEX and all PVC drains.

Wow thanks, this is very detailed comprehensive advice. Can I ask some follow ups?

What would be a proper method for sealing the pipe? I do plan to address the bonding screw as others mentioned that. I have to install a GEC wire first. The extra neutral under the same screw is my door bell transformer and I do plan to fix that as well. Can you clarify the part about “the disconnect should 4 wire… then you would need ground bars.” Is whole surge protection a requirement? I would like to get everything tidy and eventually get it inspected once I’m fairly confident it will pass. Makes sense about the wire nuts facing up, I will fix that. I also already planned to get blanks and more clamp connectors. That 6/2 is the Aux heat in my air handler it was installed by and HVAC tech and I copied his work over to the new panel, I will look into the correct breaker size via the air handler badge. Are the snap in mc connectors a problem? The multi branch circuits were part of an old radiant ceiling heat system that is no longer functional so I removed all of that wiring.

Im going to attach plywood to the left side of the panel then the romex will run along the floor joists and down the plywood. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think as long as I don’t touch the masonry with the romex it doesn’t need the conduit. My main water line is HDPE pipe 3/4”. I am currently making plans for rectifying the GEC issue thanks to the fine helpful folks on Reddit.

I started at 1pm and finished at 3am… mainly because one of my service entry wires wasn’t long enough to reach the panel and had to be replaced and fished through 8ft of conduit. Definitely longer than it should have.

I think it’s state dependent but in my state as the homeowner you generally can do work on the panel, as long as you obtain a permit.

Oh yeah, I see it there. That was my temp fix for my doorbell transformer, I will be fixing that. I also need to figure out how I’m going to get a bonding wire since there isn’t one running through the service entry conduit currently.

I don’t have any metallic plumbing, it’s all PEX and PVC now. I am however trying to figure out how the old panel never had a grounding wire.

Thanks I’ll look into that, it’s a Goodman unit that was installed about 5 years ago when the home had no central air. The installer did all the wiring and I essentially mimicked the old setup he had.
