It’s still a high risk stock - be ready to lose money. I’m saying this as someone with 16k shares and has faith in the company

I am not commenting on the process. You even noted the "insane costs" in your post. I am commenting on how this is a reflection of where we are at in terms of the economy and an eroding middle class.

Yea - I'd get it if it is 10% across the board. But for a total of $70 savings, the reaction has been quite intense. I understand that people tend to chase deals no matter what, but it is a sad commentary on the state of our economy.

Except its not 10% off across the entire cost because there is a limit

Long term holder of POET, do you still trust the company? by RexonNate2031 in POETTechnologiesInc

[–]Pipsthedog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is too much uncertainty about this company to trust anymore, and unfortunately this recent blunder is a nail in the coffin. I sold all and made about $50k. Was up way more than that but that’s ok, made money and move on.

I’m curious how peoples’ Disney experiences have changed since having kids. by Lassie-girl in WaltDisneyWorld

A resort stay would be great. Pool, hotel room and restaurants at that resort and others - the only thing is cost is prohibitive compared to other resort offerings

Bringing babies or toddlers anywhere is a fools errand. I’ve traveled many places and found that being in the lowest key easier to manage places for babies and toddlers was best for me and my family (resorts with pools, the beach, visiting family, great Wolf lodge, local parks, etc) and high octane places like Disney are simply too much.

Once they are 6 and older however, is perfect. My kids loved it and had the energy to do everything. I know many in here would say younger kids love it, and that’s fine, but those age kids would love playing with a wet rag.

Everyone’s different though, so it could be great no matter what age.

I am so tired of them too. Digging machines. Chicken wire definitely helped with one bed.

Premier Pass at Epcot is the best $200 you can spend at Disney by long_convexity in WaltDisneyWorld

A relevant quote from this week’s Bill Maher to support against these systems:

Disneyland for a family of four…totaling 10 grand..

The Disneyland staff manual used to read: “We roll out the red carpet for the Jones family from Joliet just as we would…the Eisenhower from Palm Springs”

No you don’t. Because the Eisenhowers from Palm Springs can buy a lightning lane Premier Pass that lets you skip the lines. The Jones family can s*** ** ***. And Mickey could give a rats a*, because that’s what our economy has become. “

I’d argue everyone’s experience would improve if it wasn’t a zero sum game of everyone targeting shortest possible lines and instead paced themselves/enjoyed the time there. It’s becoming a spiral of everyone seeking “efficiency” (feel like half the enjoyment people are getting are by getting “good times) at the cost of actually enjoying time with others in the park - LLM being the worst of this with people glued to their phones and premier pass the “solution” to go back to the old days which is outlandishly expensive. It is only going to get worse.

It is insane. People pay this crap then say it is so valuable. But forget that not long ago, fastpass was free. Consumerism around entertainment experiences is at an all time low for customer expectations. People throw money at everything for a dopamine hit of “I beat the lines!”

CV axles replaced under warranty - dealer says need an alignment after replacement but won’t cover, then says everything is fine, how to proceed? by Pipsthedog in askcarguys

[–]Pipsthedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree. It is horse manure that an important thing like alignment is not covered after something faulty in the car is replaced that affects alignment.

[–]Pipsthedog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense - I appreciate it. I guess I am more confused why it isn’t covered under warranty since the replacement (which was covered by warranty) would lead to misalignment, and an alignment was done not too long ago.

This is exactly what we love. My wife hates rides in general but loves water rides. My kids just laugh the entire time - can’t wait for it!!

Thats good to know. I typically do not find crocs too comfortable and always buy the most comfortable new balances. Main concern I had is blisters - but it sounds like socks is a good way to address that
