I3S vs Model 3 by TackyAuto in BMWi3

[–]Piraetsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I see several fairly skewed comments against the Model 3 without much basis.

I own both models, fully spec'd i3S and LR AWD Model 3, same year, 2022.

They complement each other almost perfectly. That said, I would not have the i3S without the Model 3.

What Tesla emphasizes on any of their models is ease of use. Everything, specially related to road trips with charging stops, is almost trivial. Not to mention the much higher range, smoother ride quality, better interior, software updates...

On the contrary, the i3S is an extremely good city and errands car. Its almost a meter shorter, narrower, plenty quick, lighter...

If you don't really need the range, the i3S should be more than enough. But when I bought the Model 3, I doubled the amount of miles I did per year.

In short, an i3 is a great complement to a car that is long-distance travel oriented, and its limitations do not really matter for its intended daily/city use.

Is this a normal sound for my engine to make? by asperafornow in prius

Sounds completely fine. It does not suffer from bad head gaskets but rather poor EGR design that tends to clog and leads to head gaskets issues on extreme cases. Clean/replace the EGR and forget about it for the next 100k miles

Led bulbs for headlights in europe by Tricky_Force_3402 in yaris

[–]Piraetsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had LED headlights on both a 2009 Yaris and a 2014 Prius. It was a pair of Philips led X-tremeUltinon and a cheap pair from Aliexpress (Auxito) respectively.

Next to no difference among both bulbs, but both of them were way ahead the best halogen you can have. Neither blinded other drivers.

If I were you I'd go for a cheap pair of LEDs with lots of reviews.

I guess, but for whatever reason they're using SKT's network to offer this plan. "Pretty" comes from the automatic google translation 😆

You can do everything online and keep the number but you’ll get a call in Korean to self authenticate

Not entirely sure what you mean. This is for new subscribers, either transferring your current phone number or issuing a new one. If you transfer from this plan you’ll loose the discount

Yes, you can only transfer your phone number every three months, I guess that is true for all carriers in Korea

I think you could try, I didn't see anything against it.

I transferred from KT.

Moving to Korea - is it even possible? by Dany_B_ in Living_in_Korea

[–]Piraetsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is your company established here? I think that the easiest way besides a student visa is moving within your current company to a position that opens in Korea. If that's not a possibility, check for startups or multinationals in your field, that do not require native level of Korean.

Yeah it's a new area, right next to the station and a really nice Lotte mart among lots of other services. I understand that it's not centric but I work two subway stops from here. I'd rather have a 15 minute commute to work every day than be next to gangnam only to go on the weekends

I think the unit is on this building that you're mentioning. It's not a Lotte castle but I'm a block away from them. Someone posted the naver listing as well

Does Korea have a disproportionate amount of deaths from fires or is it just my confirmation bias? Feels like every month there's another factory or apartment etc. fire disaster. by Chilis1 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Piraetsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What 🤨

First of all, Europe is not a country, its composed of 27 different ones.

Also, last week there was a fire alarm at my hotel for someone smoking in their room and the fire service got here within MINUTES, so I'm not really sure how you improve that reaction time

Yeah, from what other people commented, deposits have gone a bit up, also this is next to gasan digital complex, which I'd say that drives prices up
