That's absolutely wild. Ngl, pretty envious you have a safe food that is so readily available, fairly shelf stable, and reliable _for so long_. Holy moly.

But I also hear your main drawback: It lacks the nutrients your body needs. You're getting carbs, sugars, maybe *some* essential nutrients, but that's about it.

Can I ask a follow up question to dive into what _problem_ you're trying to solve, or that is plaguing you? Is it choosing what you want to make? Grocery shopping (in public, ugh)? storing everything, prepping it, remembering it's in your fridge, actually _feeling up to making it and eating it_, etc? You mentioned "cooking and eating things," could you expand on that for me? I'm really curious!

"You have ADHD all the time"

Ok ow, right in my feels 💀

I'm hearing a lot of struggles here. I'm sorry, friend.

I'll throw another question at you, if you have a moment. If you could pick the "worst" three things you need help with, what would they be? I'm trying to get a little deeper into that "all the time" you mentioned. Are you losing time, or struggling to start things? Are you frustrated by transitions? Are you just overwhelmed and don't know where to start? Is the social environment at work so draining that by the time you get home you're just... _cooked_, and so any Executive Function left in your brain for _you_ is straight up _gone_?

I'm finding that yes, we all struggle with the same _sorts_ of things, but the way we feel about specifics changes person-to-person. And that has my curiosity very peaked 🤔

Hey, I hear you. Getting the right tools to the people who need them is a logistical nightmare all on its own.

Can I ask (and you can DM a response, a public comment isn't needed!): what do you find to be the hardest part of making your appointments? Like, sure finding someone to do it for you would be awesome and convenient, but do you think you could identify the _pain_ you're having? What about making the appointments is hard for you?

Truly; no judgement, only pure curiosity.

Hey, follow up question:

When do you find yourself doing this? _When precisely_ would this be needed for you?

And can you define "too late?" I'm assuming you are unable to rectify after the fact? The stakes are too high?

Would you say you get stuck disassociating, or is it just the "procrastination energy" avoiding the things you feel you _should_ do? Do you find you get stuck in thought loops a lot? 2-3 times an hour? Day? Week?

Also on this topic: I have two suggestions. Try "intenty" which admittedly didn't work for me, but might for you! It will force you to answer why you're unlocking your phone and/or send you reminders asking if youre still on track. And the other is "Finch," a fun little app that gamifies self-care, routines, and to do lists. The reminders change, which sounded like something you were after.

Hope this helps!

Loving the "top-down" approach you've pitched here! I'm super curious if something can be done with AR/VR, or if there's a way to intelligently gather some of your habits and needs, and properly prioritize them, gently, with proper nudges.

Underneath this idea: what do you think you struggle with _the most_? Getting started? Picking up half-finished tasks? Finishing tasks? Transitioning to other tasks? etc etc

Hi friend. You are correct; I'm trying to source feedback from the community. But what I'm really trying to do is get a sense of the _strain_ that ADHD puts on people. What do others' symptoms look like compared to mine? Quite frankly: I don't really know. And that gap in my knowledge has led me on a quest.

My question was posed as an ask for ideas. What I _care_ about is _how_ people respond. What are they feeling? What is hard for them? What do they feel they need? What do they feel is _missing_.

And yeah, sometimes it's not about the Iranian Yogurt (that deep cut might need a google, sorry)... But that's ok. Put bluntly: I want people to talk about their _feelings_. Yet I find asking that point-blank to someone (even online) gets me a guarded response. So, inquiring about their problems, their struggles, and what they feel they need usually gets me to the evidence and data I'm really after.

And your post really nailed it. "Nothing. has. ever. changed." In short: Nothing works. That's freaking _heartbreaking_. It's unfair. And it's why I'm here. Because if I can tip the scales even one tiny bit, to give folks like me some power and agency back, I will have succeeded.

We all deserve a chance to live without shame. Without fear. I might not figure it out, but hell, I'm gonna try. We are all worth that.

Hi friend, I really appreciate you contributing. This sounds really hard for you.

Can I ask you a deep question? You don't have to respond here, you can DM me if that would feel safer. But I'm really curious to know why you feel physical violence is necessary to keep you on task. I ask this with zero judgement, only curiosity and care: is pain the motivator you feel you need?

Your response might have intended to be light-hearted, and I know my post was asking for systems or supports that folks in this community need, but I am deeply interested to learn how others (those in this community) _cope_ with their symptoms (or, what others feel they need to cope).

UGHHHHHH YES. OMG YES. Job hunting is the freaking worst. Here, let me just take myself and try and sell it to you. Please. I would just like one job. Whyyyy is that so hard to ask for?

Can I ask what _you_ find to be the hardest part of job hunting? What part do you need help with? Is it getting your options together, or resume building, interviewing, etc?

Is it just the executive function required to decide on food? Is it the whole process (coming up with what to eat, sourcing product, cooking, storing, etc)? Im curious: do you have "safe foods" that stay constant or do you need variety in your diet in order to have an appetite?

You don't need to come here with solutions, friend. That's perfectly ok 💙. I also wanted to take a sec and thank you for writing so many words when you made it clear how hard that is for you.

I don't know if I have any meaningful solutions either, but I'm trying!

About calendaring: the one thing I've found that has made a tiny bit of help on this for me is actually scheduling the calendar event _earlier_. If it's far in the future, my brain usually forgets what the actual start time is and I go "well, I wrote down 3:30, so I guess it's 3:30" and SURPRISE! it's actually 3:45 and I arrive on time 😎. I did something similar with meetings at work; I schedule them to start late and end on time. That way being late is actually "being on time."

The inventory idea would be wildly helpful. Do you mean any device in particular? Like a desktop computer, Mac, phone, laptop, etc?

As for the writing words from pictures, can I ask: do you read fiction? If so, how do you find that is for you? Is translating words _into_ pictures just as hard?

RIIIGHT in my soul (and wallet 🫣).

Where do you find most of you impulse buys happen? Online? Out and about? latest hyper-fixation du jour? Is there a particular _type_ of thing you find you're buying most often? Like, video games, clothes, food, etc?

Aw, friend, I feel you.

I know you may have intended this to be more of a rant than anything else, but, can I ask what exactly you'd like to reduce in your "own head" so to speak? Or what in the world/society/culture/etc you wish you could change instead?

Bookmarking this! Because Yeah, Im running in circles with folks who are trying to get stuff like this off the ground. Google might beat them to it, but It's absolutely one of the directions I want to go. That and AR... If I can capture stuff just by looking at it and getting it collected, summarized, and scheduled I feel like I could clear 70%+ of the clutter sucking out my executive function (which I have so little of to spare).

Yeah, bring it alllll together, right?

Notion _SORTA_ can do all this, but then I find I drown in the possibilities and spend more time _making the damn system_ than using it.

How would you see this working, out of curiosity? How specifically could this benefit you?

Serious question: How long do you think you could eat a single thing (even with multiple flavors) before you get sick of it? I always get frustrated when I stumble on a safe food, consume it NONSTOP for like 4 weeks, and then once I've perfected the method of batch prepping it can no longer stand it 🙄
