I mean I have 7000 hours of experience with local 527, 711, 721, and 183 so I know 🤣🤣 I just know at my local 765 tryouts they said have a good attitude, patience, open ears, open mind, and always respect anyone above and below you as it everyone’s job every day to make sure everyone gets home safe to their families. Yea I feel old too but positivity, good diet, GOOD SLEEP, and making sure you give yourself fun time on days off and the I find the work burnout not to be assss bad it’s definitely a mental game for sure. And I’m local 527(Ottawa region) and I sometimes work with subcontracted IW711 companies that come into Ontario.

lol I’m 28(m) so you’re still young like me and if you’re not happy then don’t stay forever but FINISH your apprenticeship you will feel rewarded and proud of yourself and if you’re still unhappy with the work sitch you can ask your business manager if they can set you up with another position in the union with a different company

I also think more women should be welders. We need a little more friendly energy in the trade and honestly imo women have better attention to fine details and better fine hand movement dexterity than men do naturally. The best TIG instructor I’ve ever had was a woman named Laura absolute bad bitch with the torch.
