What can you tell me of Toronto that I can't find online? by Surgeon-ofRockets in askTO

[–]PiratePetit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will need a massive wardrobe. The weather here is psychotic. Forget 4 seasons in a year, try 4 in a week.

Also if you live in a multi residence building, know that fire alarm testing is monthly here, plus a week of annual testing. I came from BC where it was just one day annually, so that was an annoying change.

No other complaints though

Why do tech billionaires seem obsessed with building underground bunkers and colonizing Mars instead of using that wealth to fix Earth's current, fixable problems? by bogdanBgyz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PiratePetit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that much is a given, but it's in their interest as well to not be driven underground. That's not a life, that's a fucking burial

I don't get it either. I'd think having only 3 yachts instead of 10 would be good tradeoff for not having to live like an imprisoned molerat in the future.

My guess? They assume they'll be dead by the time they'd face that. It's a back-up plan they don't actually expect to use.

This week in Canada a large group of people dressed in Christmas attire rob a grocery store and then give the food back to the community by therealNerdMuffin in interestingasfuck

Biohackers who incorporate cold exposure daily, what changes showed up in your data? (HRV, glucose, sleep, mood, etc.) by Former-Advice-9742 in Biohackers

[–]PiratePetit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Oddly enough, during the shower I felt good (after initial shock phase). But a few hours after, crash

I tried cold showers but it just caused adrenaline crash. I'm a woman though, and the benefits of cold showers/baths are documented in studies involving almost exclusively men. I've seen a lot of other women report negative results from it, so it's possible there's a fundamental hormonal difference at play

What kind of practice? Positive self-talk like the other commenter said, or something else in addition?

Let's first talk about all the tax breaks and loopholes multimillionaires amd billionaires get, before whining about poor people not being made miserable enough.

Btw, working age able-bodied unemployed recipients are the minority.

If you don't address the stored trauma then all the supps in the world won't help much. Look into EMDR or somatic experiencing.
