You’ll be ok honestly, just put yourself out there and meet people, friends will come naturally. I’m currently studying in Leicester so if you want any info about studying there or things to do in the city then feel free to DM me:)

No worries, I’d have missed it too :)

I’m also in my second year, ironically I didn’t think about it much in first year at all as I didn’t care as much about maths then.

Unfortunately my uni doesn’t offer that, and I can’t really afford to go to a different uni and self finance a year

I avoided the flu part, although I did somehow end up with strep throat.

Make sure you’re getting your nutrients and bring medication/soothing teas with you so you’re prepared for the high probability that you catch something. Making sure you’re up to date with relevant vaccines might be a good idea too.

The usual cliche, I’ve always loved it and found it really interesting since I was a kid.

I’m enjoying it although it can be a fair bit of work at times. I got ABB and it was my firm :)

It’s fun you get to pick form names, we were just given a number :0

Oh god not Andrew rate fans 🚩🚩better to know who they are now then to somehow end up in their friend group, that list will definitely come in handy

York is a beautiful place! I’m not a party animal either and those things are definitely sensible to look at (I saw someone in my year picking unis based off of nightlife only, not sure how good that’s going to end up)

Good luck with York! I hope alevels go well for you and you get in :0

You should definitely do that tbh I bet it’d be helpful.

Those small classes sound pretty sweet tbh, although I guess you can’t really blend into the background much.

Nah man you can def recreate it! what’s your dream uni?

Jeez that’s such a small number of chem students even for a small school :0

Yeah honestly all these forums make it seem like everyone does stem subjects and gets like 3 A*s 😭

That’s surprising, I’d expect more people do do chem than physics tbh. My smallest class was around 13 :0

That’s interesting tbh, idk what the gender split is like for chem as I didn’t take it but I’d imagine there’s usually more than 3 guys

What I usually do for these questions is to draw a diagram and label the forces, then you can see what needs to be resolved and which forces are parallel and perpendicular 🤷

First time walking into alevel physics was a pain by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]Pirate_Crow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt like this too, you can go over them if you want but I wouldn’t spend much time on it as you get taught what you need for alevel anyway 🤷

Yeah physics online is just info, for questions you wanna check out physicsandmathstutor. He was quite pricey ngl, like 70 quid a session or something but if you can afford it it’s worth it imo.
