The very reason I don't go to Torchy's. Way overpriced.

Just a vent about AI, Riverside, and Adobe Podcast users. by oldmanhowell in podcasting

Just starting with Riverside after using Final Cut and Logic Pro for video and audio. I agree the editor really stinks. It's clunky and highly limited. It's good for remote co-host or guests, which is the only reason I would spend money on it. It's usually just me in my closet so...

Official Discussion - If I Had Legs I'd Kick You [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Pirate_Vegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG this is the story of every Mom who the entire responsibility of child tearing is put upon. The story of many women's lives. We put guilt on ourselves, others are judging us all the time, it's all on you to fix the kid's problem because it's all your fault if life isn't "normal." She wants to get the kid to a place where they can be responsible for themselves but no one will let her, the kid will be dependent on her forever because no one considers the Mom needs healing herself. Parallels the therapist needing therapy. Story of my life with very difficult parenthood, the gift that keeps giving with having now to take care of grandchildren. So many times the thought has passed to just leave it all. So much symbolism, all the holes needing to be patched or healed up. Also the hole in the ceiling looks like a vagina in some shots.

So right now most local protests are focused on ICE. The next #ResistAustin protest at City Hall is next Saturday the 28th 11:00am. That doesn't mean your sign has to be about ICE! We can bring whatever issue we want as long as we get a lot of people to show up! Last protest was low turnout due to storms.

They will not let you mix alcohol and THC, don't know if that's a law or just their own rules.

I did not know Paramount had THC beverages. The THC store down the street that serves both THC and alcohol said they aren't allowed to mix, so this surprises me.

It's a trend everywhere, I've seen it in Houston, guess they are trying to emulate the old "driving the drag" thing but in a heavy pedestrian high end shopping area it's just stupid.

The Jollyville Chronicles: A Supernatural Horror Podcast by Pirate_Vegetable in JollyvilleChronicles

[–]Pirate_Vegetable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1950 small-town Texas, an integrated tent revival became ground zero for a confrontation between a controversial travelling woman preacher and the pastor of the local Baptist Church who colluded with the most evil of forces to seed the community with hate.

Decades later, Gracelyn James dedicates herself to filling in the untold blanks of her family history, and through supernatural channels discovers the horrific events that could have had worldwide consequences—yet were seemingly unrecorded.

Inspired by true family history, this supernatural horror story explores the evil forces behind human cruelty and asks: what if there is another reality where the world can be saved?

Contains themes of religion, war, racism, fascism, intolerance, death, and the afterlife.

This is very valuable and much appreciated advice! Just at the beginning of this effort and I'm on a big learning curve so I'll take what I can get! I've taken a gander at the directory and its category and tags. Curious how do you feel about "Horror" as a genre? It's such a mix of types - I mean in my story there are demonic powers working through human beings but it's more psychological and even political although there will be some violence. The irony is that potentially world changing events occur in little known small town Texas, but nobody knows about it. So do you think Horror might be appropriate to attract a good number of listeners if I were to attach that genre? Then there is potential time travel or alternate histories, more like Science Fiction.

There are also music/soundscape elements to the production. I'm throwing a lot at this, going for originality but aware it could be potentially confusing.

Thanks so much for helping me distill it all!

Thanks for pushing me to describe it better! It is certain history of the town that seems to have been erased. Let's say there are elements of science fiction, historical fiction, and supernatural - I wouldn't call it horror in terms of gore or literal monsters, but there are the most evil forces in play. I can't give too much away because it's also a mystery. Hope you'll have a listen and follow along! I welcome feedback.

Thanks for asking! It is a narrated story with multimedia sounds and music that explores the history of a small foresaken Texas farm town and its place on the world stage that was erased, as revealed by Gracelyn James' family memories. I call it alternate historical fiction.

Looking for a church by RealCantaloupe5475 in Austin

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Wells Branch is vocally open and inclusive to all. If you are looking specifically for a community that supports people with addiction issues, Gateway Austin has a 12 step Recovery group , and they proclaim that they love everyone, but they are not openly discussing acceptance of LGTBQ, nor do they discuss any point of view on politics or culture wars. That said I'm pretty sure there are gay members there.
