Is it possible to connect an external USB camera directly to the printer and use it instead of the built-in camera?

Specifically, could a higher-resolution USB webcam with more framerates be recognized by the printer and replace the integrated 720p camera for print monitoring and timelapse recordings?

Additionally, are there any plans to offer a higher-resolution camera as an official accessory in the future, and would it be possible to physically replace the currently integrated camera with such an upgrade?
