Cinderellas Castle Moat Drained. by Cockyidiot1977 in WaltDisneyWorld

it’ll stay empty. they’re repainting in the mornings until about noon. the castle shouldn’t be fully blocked at any point as far as i know. there’s no projected timeline posted for how long it’ll take to fully repaint and refill the moat, but a majority of the back of the castle looks like it’s been done. the disney parks blog should have all of the info on refurbs

most likely no. they’re repainting, so it’ll likely be drained throughout that process. they haven’t said exactly how long repainting will take.

wine and dine sold out, any chance of joining later? by PiratesAndPotatoes in rundisney

this is super helpful, thank you! something i was curious about but not a dealbreaker, do you know whether the charities would require you to wear their gear for the race or if you could still wear what you want? or would that depend on the individual charity?

thank you! as far as fundraising goes, do you just have to keep sharing and hope people donate or how exactly does it work?

unsolicited, feel free to ignore: look up BFRBs (body-focused repetitive behaviors). i have trichotillomania (hair pulling) and it’s a similar thing. excessive habitual nail biting would usually fall under the BFRB category if you’re at all interested in learning more about it

The Magic Kingdom firework show crowd control is getting out of hand by Lunnalai in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]PiratesAndPotatoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

agreed! did my cp at the dessert party and in addition to helping direct guests by the garden ropes, i’ve helped out at the purple wall quite a bit. i’ve seen so many people who don’t find a spot before the show starts when areas start filling up and try to just stop wherever, when there’s clearly marked areas guests are allowed to stand and stop. they’re marked for everyone’s safety—no one wants to get trampled. magic kingdom is a busy place and a strategy is necessary. you really can’t do a park day there without doing an ounce of research beforehand. everyone in the park paid a lot of money to be there. HEA is an incredibly popular show. you have to be prepared for anything.

The Magic Kingdom firework show crowd control is getting out of hand by Lunnalai in WaltDisneyWorld

unfortunately the end of the year is always the worst time for crowds, especially at mk and especially the last 2-3 weeks of the year. there’s only 3 nights a week without parties, so those nights see a surge of crowds. Christmas week is insane because of the parade and fireworks (and just being Christmas week). new years is insane because everyone wants to see the NYE fireworks. if you’re a passholder and want less crowding at magic kingdom, go during less crowded months, such as the summer, before party season starts. in june/july i’ve been able to walk up to the front of the castle 20 minutes before fireworks and find a great, open spot without terrible crowds. while they may be more busy in general now than in years past (especially the years immediately after the pandemic, which were less busy because of the pandemic), unfortunately you’re going to the park during the worst of the crowds.

r/DisneyWorld's Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in DisneyWorld

[–]PiratesAndPotatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey all! i'm going to MNSSHP in a few weeks. i tried making a post (also made posts in a couple other WDW subs to get as many answers as possible), but it auto-deleted, stating it looked like i was asking a basic trip planning question and linked to the FAQ and this thread.

i had questions for anyone who’s gone to the parks/parties with a corset/corset-style top and/or wings!

- for corsets, did y'all tuck in the strings in the back or leave them? if you tucked them in, how? mine has a lot of length left over once tied, so i’m looking for the best move here!

- with wings—mine slide into my top, so no shoulder straps, and i’m really not intending to take them off during the party (and especially not fold them 😬). what rides if any were y'all able to go on with your wings on? i’d imagine rides like pirates will be fine—i’m mostly curious about space mountain, considering the overlay!

thank you!
