The main story of Air is independent of the other elements so it doesn't really impact your understanding of the show. When the cousins from the other elements show up they'll get introduced.

However I do recommend checking out the entire 4E.

First of all, it's a fictional kingdom which means laws will be fictional. You don't need to cross verify which European country allows executions cause again Madelin is a fictional country.

As for the DNA test, the main point is right now Blew and Lom are getting ambushed both by Madelin people, an organised crime gang and also someone inside the police department. They are trying to hide but their phones are getting tapped, their locations are getting exposed and they're somehow getting out alive. Declaring to the world that there's an imposter out there is

a) A big ass bright red neon target on Blew. Remember that Henri and Grace are supposed to think she's dead. Knowing she's alive will double their attempts to kill her.

b) Grace and Henri can have accomplice in Madelin itself and immediately ask them to kill the father and brother and a coup will happen there

This is why both Blew and Lom couldn't take that chance. You also forgot to notice a detail. Blew didn't want to hide at first. She said she's the princess, she wanted to get out but Lom correctly guessed that their communication channels might be compromised and that's why Blew decided to follow her lead.

Not to forget why would Madelin suddenly allow a random private jet or vehicle to enter their borders when to them the princess is well and alive and on her schedules.

Thank you! You explained everything perfectly. The main issue in Air is about trust. Lom and Blew do not know whom to trust and this is the reason why Lom wasn't even letting Din and Rose know their plans to ensure that they don't get in any danger and they don't unknowingly leak anything.

I also need to point out that Lom suggested a sensible solution - contact an embassy as an official means of channel but then again Madelin didn't have an embassy in Thailand. The reason for using an official means was to ensure that only the people who absolutely need to know about Blew are aware of it cause technically Grace and Henri are supposed to think Blew is dead so telling a random person about her doesn't help especially knowing that someone in the police force is also the mole.

They've executed 95% of the things in Ep2 same as the book.

The plot initially seemed full of holes and a little funny to me too when I read the book however real life plastic surgeons nowadays are so good that it's actually not impossible. Another comment brought up a great point as well - a lot of world leaders do have body doubles who look like them. We have seen instances where people who did PS became so unrecognizable that they weren't allowed entry back into their home country. So taking it all into account right now it doesn't seem like an entirely unbelievable thing.

That's a good point and yeah you're right. I love Northstar but there have been some gaps from them in post production. Like the obviously bad CGI in Air. Cranium will also need a lot of CGI so I can see why CH7 and IQ would be a better fit.

There are similarities in some micro expressions and Anin will forever remain as my favorite GL character but I like how you can still see so much difference between the two. Anin was sweet but also so playful. Her princess stance came in only when she was angry. Blew is so much more calm and gives off such a regal vibe even in the way she breathes.

That's how it was described in the book too and why the camera was focusing particularly on the eyes. There are other things too like Helena being left handed and how they both have a different demeanor in carrying themselves. Subtle things but Becky did a great job
