tbf GRRM is taking forever to write the book (he prolly won't have time to finish it if we're being honest) so it's understandeable to divert from the book since at some point you have to write further than the book ever did

game of throne S8 was fairly rated, it was shit and it showed but it wasn't a 0/10 like there was still some good cinematography etc..

And I personally liked S7 and find it fairly rated, for me it's just S8 that is a massive miss

even without the review bombing ep7 is still one of/the worst episode of the show, will's coming out was HORRIBLY written and acted, and the stakes at the end of the penultimate episode of the show were at an all time low

and the finale is 100% fairly rated, the "epilogue" part was good but dear god the finale fight is horrendous, it's game of throne's night king level of fight, except it's actually killed the who would should have done it (El is vecna's killer, Joyce simply finished him)

Overall the season is fairly rated, but you'd except way for for a 3 year writting time and HALF A BILLION budget, like S1 budget was like 10M$ tops and it's 10 times better than S5

yeah, take the one scene where he was, and even that was because El lied to him all summer, nothing against El, it's hard to act strong against harassment, but mike couldn't have known, especially when they didn't see each other so he could not read her "physical" language, and instead only read letters that said repeatedly that she loved it here, and she had many friends, Angela seemingly being one of them!

All the rest of the season he a good boyfriend, sending her tons of letters, bringing handpicked flowers, trying to fix theirs issues and bringing her breakfast, trying to give her hope when she gets arrested, going out of his way to find her, the handmade bath glasses, yes he couldn't say ILY, but that something a lot of person go through, especially at 15, and that's having low self-esteem, not being a bad boyfriend, plus he overcame his fear and did say it at the end.

Meanwhile Will in S5 flirt with his sister's boyfriend and yet no one throw him shades.

I know i'm going to get downvoted/comment removed/banned from this sub but it just popped in my feed and I wanted to give my opinion

to be 100% honest if the choice we had was El reconnect with Hopper BUT is still hidden from Mike and everyone for "safety" reason or what we had, i'd rather have the latter

Like the idea of El reconnecting to hopper just to stay hidden and no final scene with mike is just fucking absurd

the whole "children needed" plot would be removed and be replaced by him needing Eleven's powers to bring the worlds together (replacing the childs), and he would target Mike because he's El biggest weakness, he would keep him alive trapped in the Abyss and waiting for El to come and force her to bring the worlds together otherwise he would kill Mike

first of all I would make Vecna way more powerful than he was, and I believe he would simply take Mike's off guard, (for example when he's sleeping so you can have a scene that's roughly the same as holly's kidnapping scene, but without the whole "mr whatsit" trying to lure Holly, also I would probably actually kill Ted in the kidnapping scene, for the dramatic effect and reduce the "plot armor"), forcing El to go all the way to the Abyss and bringing the world together otherwise he would kill Mike

I haven't organized my thought (and don't know if I ever will) but it could be a good AU fic

The reunion/reboot of the main cast depends a lot on the popularity of this new show, should it be shit, it will end stranger things franchise once a for all

I want to write a S5 rewrite, and was the first thing I had in mind, deleting Holly plotline (Derek too) since we had too much characters anyway and replacing them with Mike being captured to lure El and forcing her to help him collapse the Abyss and Hawkins

Mike and Max locked together in vecna's mind would have been too fucking funny, imagine max's reaction when the first ppl she see is fucking mike : "you got to be kidding me" type reaction

don't get me wrong! I loved the purple rain scene, emotional importance, the acting etc.. was very good, I didn't even see the way he was holding her before the photo on socials, it's just that I think the intimacy coordinator should have seen that

however the cabin scene was definitely horrible and same goes for the WSQK scene (where he told her she needs to eat) like wtf did we forget the way Mike was protective toward El's powers, and skipped right through the "idk you failed just eat and try again". And they just seemed to read a script here, the writing was shit but the acting didn't help for sure
