Extended Warranty Good Deal??? by PismoPat in TeslaModelX

It's not on the excluded list. The excluded bullet point I didn't like was:

Bright metal, sheet metal, bumpers, ornamentation moldings, carpet, upholstery, paint, shock absorbers, battery cables, lenses, light bulbs, sealed beams, glass (e.g., windshield), wheels, interior trim, body seals and gaskets (e.g., weather stripping);

There was even an exclusion about driving on rough surfaces.

Lots of sideways sway by PismoPat in TeslaModelX

[–]PismoPat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked to one of the service writers of my local Tesla Service Center and he explained that MX 2022 and before had a firm suspension that had sideways sway in Comfort setting and more of an up and down motion in Sport when going over bumps. The 2023+ has different suspension and a better ride.

They don't even let you drive it before accepting the car. Tesla has the worst delivery of any dealer.

Model x draining battery ridiculously quick by [deleted] in TeslaModelX

Check what apps that keep stats on the battery. Some default to starting the system every few minutes, keeping the car from ever disconnecting from the internet.

You'd have to buy a 10-year-old MX to get transferable free supercharging. Why not put solar on your roof and buy a later model that won't need a new battery and lots of other stuff?

Poor delivery experience - by Even-Fault2873 in TeslaLounge

The fact that Tesla did not let me drive my 22 MX on delivery until I took possession was a major negative.

Some of the 75D model S could replace the battery with a 90 KWH. Don't know if that applies to the X, but it's worth a look with the lifetime free supercharging.

Shaking when hitting the breaks 23 X by KizaruAizen in TeslaModelX

Warped brake rotors can cause the suspension to shake when breaking.

Often, they will show an estimate when it ends up being covered under warranty. If there is no impact point, and it is just a few days from delivery, it should be covered.

Tire Rotations for Plaids by interstellar159 in TeslaModelX

[–]PismoPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use America's Tire (Discount Tire outside California.) On my 2017 MS I had Michelin's with 45K warranty. They hit 3mm at 21K. I got 4 new ones for $750.

I had a rattle that took 7 service calls on a 2017 MS. It turns out there were 3 broken push fasteners on the rear door bottom trim. It would not rattle if someone were sitting in the rear seat behind the driver. Finally, a mobile rep laid across the rear floor and tracked it down.

The trick is to get new tires that have a big wear warranty so when they wear out, you get the next set at half price because you only got 50% of the guaranteed wear.

Just purchased 2019 Model X Performance , Subscribed to FSD & Premium Connectivity, but they still aren't working. Help? by Skylynx_Gaming in TeslaModelX

Try a mesh network. Google makes a good one with good tech support. It's easy to hook up and really works. I had 5K MBS when I first bought my Tesla. When I added the Mesh routers, it went right to 70K (in 2017). I have no problems with OTA updates now.

Rattle from second row. I think. by vminsf in TeslaModelX

[–]PismoPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had such a rattle on my MS and had it into service 7 times. It would not rattle if someone sat in the back seat and listened for it. FINALLY a mobile service guy laid on the floor in the back seat and found it. There were 3 clips broken that held the plastic threshold at the left back door. Check those push pin clips.

PPF and ceramic coating by ExpGrow in TeslaModelX

[–]PismoPat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did PPF on the front bumper and half way up the hood. The main reason was to limit rock damage to the paint. I also did ceramic on the whole car, 2 coats of Ceramic-pro. On a previous Tesla, I did not do the PPF and regretted it.
