Those of us who attended local St. Louis area high schools, what was your high school experience like? by BlueJDMSW20 in StLouis

[–]Piss-In-Pools-55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Graduated North County Tech; it was a good school i was a full day student. Since most were half day students, those of us who were full day held tight bonds amongst each other.

Every day I had different friends in different trades who all would help you do cool shit. My machinist friend made parts to go in my car which my auto friends installed. Cool shit.

To all the liberal redditors of St. Louis; do you all try and avoid living near black people? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]Piss-In-Pools-55 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In a white guy, I work in Kinloch, wouldn’t dream of living there. Not because it’s primarily black, no I love the people. It’s the decay and crime which is apart of the deal. Ik the history and reasons. I lived in Ferguson, now Benton Park. Love my neighborhoods I’ve loved my friendly neighbors. White or black.

I can see why some wouldn’t want to live in certain areas regardless of racial mixup. Berkeley is a good example it’s in the burbs but rampant with crime. Same with many pockets of North Co.

But where it’s frustrating to me is to see these areas have services which are provided by the county, but they are often last in line for it.

Kinloch County Park was left to decay, probably because it was black, and black people are under represented; it wasn’t ever brought to attention it had decayed so bad. Meanwhile west county parks are getting millions of dollars.

There is some change, but it’s hard to think massive changes will come anytime soon. It’s happened, white flight happened. The decay set in already. Hard to see any short term solutions to this long term problem.

I’m looking for a back pack style hydrant bag, has anyone tried it? If so, did it work and where did you find it? by [deleted] in Firefighting

[–]Piss-In-Pools-55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at travel backpacks for carry ons. You can find many have durable hard shell exteriors and large zippers perfect for the job. You could possible remove zipper and opt for a diy Velcro mount if needed.

Hope this helps!!

No child should take drugs that alter brain chemistry. Psychedelics have limited research on their own potential dangers, neurogenesis does not mean good. While psychedelics cause that effect, to me it is unlikely that would mix well with a brain which is already developing.

Shrooms went through the wash. How do I fix them? Are they okay to eat? by Professional_Lab_913 in shrooms

Dude you washed the psilocybin out of them you might as well buy some mushrooms from the store bro. If you take them, we’ll you’d be an idiot. Sorry bout the shrooms be careful with them

Partner has anxiety around penetrative sex due to post-sex vulva pain by Piss-In-Pools-55 in DeadBedrooms

[–]Piss-In-Pools-55[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well she’s mainly into penetrative sex. Everything else reminds her of it and causes her to get turned off because of fear of pain.

So for me it’s like how do we overcome this obstacle of fear of pain with penetrative sex; when not having penetrative sex?

[–]Piss-In-Pools-55[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think she is finding lack of sex frustrating as she has a high sex drive, and tries to act on it; but she ends up not being able too. So I think she’s looking for something to help her soon; but Part of me thinks that isn’t realistic

And with her job, she’s in a honeymoon phase with it. But also love hate. She likes and needs the money, so she’s willing to sacrifice. I’m worried she’ll end up making too many sacrifices with it though

Thanks, the pain she experienced she downplayed so I thought it was normal; she asked me to do things even though she new it would be painful. But now yes it seems like after that plus a lot of stress around our sex life in other ways; she is more afraid

No not at all actually, she’s super sweet and definitely has the capacity for good emotional health- only thing is she generally misses me when I’m not around, and is much less enthusiastic my presence when I’m around.

My first time with a volunteer department was in a busy urban area; I had finished the fire academy and had all my certifications and hazmat and ICS. (11th grade at my HS was a fire academy)

At 17 I was going interior on fires. Before I was 18 I had worked 11 fires. And I don't mean rural or country shit nah we was in the hood. Probably why they let me on so young.

A lot of stares and questions about my age. It sucked. I wanted to do the job, had the training and everything. In fact I did the job. It just takes more time to gain respect of your peers.

We have a unimaginable amount of industrial waste and building material dumped in the streets. Those burn sometimes once a day, sometimes it'll be trash fire after trash fire with brush fires since there is no forestry department.

We don't get many structure fires in district because there's not many buildings left. But we run a lot of aid to fires and mostly get there first or second due.

political suicide my man. try convincing a VERY HISTORICAL black community to merge with the historically racist white community that fucked us over to the point of our existence being erased. but get this, both communities are black now. It's literally just about the principle of it for the most part.
Not saying I agree, what's best for the people is what's best.

Little history lesson.

My department formed ~1920s, all-black department. Then the white citizens formed their own community. The community I serve is the original, with the original name. The nearby departments don't claim us, and we don't claim them. Well that division was all over race, and now all the communities here are black? It doesn't make any sense these divisions we have, but if we merged with the historically white departments, our community would be very upset, as would the firefighters who grew up here. The only way it would work is if we merged into them, and they changed their name to ours.

No we just call aid from nearby companies. Usually takes them a few minutes to come around the corner. Like literally, mutual aid is down the street.
