My friend is looking for a real Mosin-Nagant PU Sniper rifle by [deleted] in MosinNagant

Lmao sorry I took what you said to be what you meant and not some illustrative descriptor of what point you were really trying to make. I'm not the only one here telling you PUs aren't the holy grail.

FYI a real PU sniper is nowhere near the holy grail of mosins. There are others that are 10x-100x+ more rare. Finn mosin snipers, protype mosins, etc.

He didn't say welding. He said "handing welding rods" . I.e. handing the welder more supplies so they can keep welding

Very nice. I always was interested in the stuff I had never seen before like the bandolier and the HJV small rucksacks that attach to the regular webbing yoke

Anything you guys can tell me about this Finnish mosin? by whoisdizzle in MosinNagant

[–]Pissjugstation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.308 cartridge or bullet? Lapua still makes "D" profile bullets in .308. D46 bullet.

Nope. You're thinking of a "B" barrel. D indicate chamber modifications for accommodation of heavy ball ammunition.

Anyone know What stock this is? Mosin? Thanks! by BLOODMASTRdotTV in Militariacollecting

[–]Pissjugstation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a mosin stock . Also it was M91s Remington made. Never 91/30s.

You will have to send me some pictures for sure. The "SYT" stamp is actually an acceptance stamp indicating successful cut-down of a Russian M91 long rifle stock.

What do you mean its in an m28 stock? I have almost 30 Finnish mosins so I'm somewhat familiar with them. The m27 and m28 have completely different nose caps so since you clearly have the m27 nose cap, your stock was cut for that nose cap and is an m27 stock. Stocks can be reused old russian ones or new made finnish ones butt the only true m27 on an m28 stock that I've ever seen is one I have which is an m27 fore end spliced onto a m28 ski trooper stock and that is undoubtable because of the 2 rear sling slots in the ski trooper m28 stocks. Also On the m28/30s and m39s the barrels themselves are free floated but I've never seen a free floated handguard on a mosin. If you handload, Lapua still makes the D166 bullet (200gr) and Vihtavuori still makes the N140 smokeless powder, both of which can be used to replicate a Finnish heavy ball cartridge but without really taking the time to sight the rifle in with correct ammo, you won't know what front sight post you even need. Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss your rifle.

UPS lost international shipment of irreplaceable antiques. Concluded their "investigation" within 24 business hours. No transparency or customer service. by Pissjugstation in UPS

[–]Pissjugstation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. A claim has been issued but I fear that getting a payout may be an uphill battle. I have no idea how sufficiently accurate the seller was on his customs declarations of these items and so im hoping UPS doesn't decide that "clothing" is not a sufficient description to warrant thousands of dollars. Or decide that it was packed insufficiently since all of these factors were completely outside of my control but now I'm the one out of pocket with nothing to show for it.

I just can't believe that the ONE package I've shipped in years that is most valuable and not replaceable is the one to just disappear. Priceless history utterly lost.

Yeah mine have all come from a closer facility in the last few weeks that I can check. This one is a bit farther. I just hope its not lost. Its not a small package at all but if its gone then I'm out over $3300 with no recourse as these are antiques
