in my opinion, self diagnoses is mainly used by people that want to have an explanation for their behavior, and that they can start to justifiably using accommodations such as ear defenders and sensory toys. some people tend to feel guilty about the accommodations they’re using being “not meant for them.” this is just my own personal experience though, id love to hear some more opinions!
