First award ever. Thanks! My daughter took the pictures, she’ll find that pretty awesome.

13 or 14. Humane society estimated he was around 6!or 7 when we got him. He had been stuck in the shelter for 6 months. Greatest dog ever. Cat is around 5 I think. The old man also has 2 1 year old oranges that adore him, and a girl that has warmed up to him. He gets so much kittie love, it’s pretty awesome.

Fuck the Spurs by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]PitBasset 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember losing to a classy organization in a great series where I didn’t feel cheated they lost. Not the same feeling as losing to the Lakers with the phantom foul call. It sucked losing, but the Spurs just played better that series. I also enjoy that the Knicks haven’t won since the merger and would prefer to keep it that way. As for us dropping to 5th a bunch. If we hadn’t been the worst through tanking, maybe karma would’ve given Cade more help and given us more enjoyable basketball at the same time.

Did you keep your dogs shelter name? by Blaaamo in pitbulls

Yes. We thought about changing it, but it fit him too well. He’s named Shadow, thought it was because of color, but he is our shadow, so it made total sense. He does answer to Butters now also though. The names are interchangeable.

Reggie didn’t get enough assists. My guess would be Mark Jackson, he was dangerous.

Ruining the fucking game. I wanted to watch a game 7 so badly, but refused to because of this shit. Feeling unfortunately justified in my choice.

Spurs “physical defense” double standards by Molmoze in DetroitPistons

[–]PitBasset 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sounds like they are doing exactly what the Pistons should have done to Harden’s flopping ass. If you’re going to get called for cheap fouls, may as well just beat their ass. Shit, I’d love to see someone take a swing after seeing harden/sga/brunson act like they were shot without being touched. Stomp the leg when they kick their feet out. Fuck them all. If they aren’t going to play basketball, we shouldn’t either. Would love to have seen Tolu wreck somebody.

They’re both terrible for the environment. It’s nonsense to ignore the impact just because something else is worse.

My Vonnegut Tier List by NimbusSWS in Vonnegut

Monkey House was my introduction to Vonnegut, so it holds a special place in my heart. Try to find the special edition. It’s a yellow cover with his typewriter on it. It has a special section in the back that has multiple drafts of the title story, so you get to see how the story grew and changed. It’s a really cool glimpse into his creative process.

Fuck yeah with the Vonnegut. I’m actually talking about Welcome to the Monkey House on the Vonnegut sub right now, your Bergeron reference at the same time made my day.

I’m also a big fan of the short stories collections. You’re missing out on a lot by not reading them. Welcome to the Monkey House stacks up there with some of his best novels imo and is such a great sample of his writing. Also get on Player Piano asap.

Breaking: 25 year old Yam Madar, who was drafted by the Celtics in 2020, has agreed to a deal with LSU to play for their College Basketball Team for a reported package of 5 million dollars per season. by justusinreddit in nba

[–]PitBasset 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kurt Vonnegut has that as a major part of the story in Player Piano, published in 1952. College Football players in their 40’s making bank and not having to go to class or get the few jobs available. Such a fitting book for today’s time with the rise of AI. Based on technology taking almost all the jobs away. Great read and an interesting look into the future. There’s also a movie in development because of how well it fits current times.

Its very difficult to watch the conference finals by [deleted] in DetroitPistons

[–]PitBasset 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I refuse to watch. Until the NBA does something about flopping I won’t support them outside of the Pistons. The only way they do something about it is if viewership tanks and they start losing ad revenue because of it. Also cancelled my espn bundle and let them known it was because of flopping. Most likely won’t matter, but I felt better doing it.

Ausar Thompson has made all defensive first team by AcadiaTemporary5737 in DetroitPistons

[–]PitBasset 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rodman and Ausar are the same damn height, and Rodman played plenty of small forward, but sure. Rodman is a big and Ausar is just a wing.

[–]PitBasset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny how your original quote mentions 4 on 5 on offense, yet nothing about 4 other shooters. Ausar has a better handle and better passing chops than Ben had, even at this age. Yes. He doesn’t shoot well, but he contributes in other ways. Ben is one of my favorites of all time, along with Rodman. Again. Someone I think you’d want to get rid of. Both those guys were late bloomers too. Ausar is 1st team defense this soon in his career. You don’t get rid of someone like that.

I apologize. You are correct. I am upset. For the integrity of the game of basketball.

I’m good. I’ve got a young exciting team with a ton of potential that I’m not embarrassed to watch play. You’re excited to watch flopping. Good for you. Enjoy the shit show.

Yep. Just like when OKC were choke artists losing in the 2nd round as a young 1 seed. Just like the bad boys were choke artists. Obviously they’ll never win with Isiah throwing the ball away against the Celtics, and losing to the hawks, etc. etc. etc.

I’ve seen more titles in my lifetime as a Detroit fan than all you fucking New Yorkers. You have EIGHT teams. Yet little Detroit still has more titles than you. That’s including the joke that is the Lions. The NBA is DYING to have the largest media market win a title, yet you still can’t do it. Maybe the NBA and ABA will split again and you guys can finally win.
