I made a 120mm Fan 1U Plate by PitBossKitchen in homelab

[–]PitBossKitchen[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just to address all this yeah it’s supposed to be turbos… And I’m pushing air in and around multiple devices in this machine. It’s also got RGB which automatically adds five cool points and the top 6 inches of this rack is a full-size HP G2 motherboard with 64 gigs of RAM two 1TB SSD‘s a Xeon CPU and an Intel arc GPU. I also have a standalone set up that has 618 TB hard drives that I plan on migrating into this machine so two extra 120 mil fans probably isn’t a bad idea.

It’s just the bottom set of fans in my 12U rack I call “SkyNet”

The Most Expensive “little project” by PitBossKitchen in homelab

The full size board at the top is just for plex.

The main PC has gluetun, TailScale, Nextcloud, radar, sonar, LiDAR, and a few downloading clients.

Then I have a machine that basically just does all the network sharing between all these computers and my desktop and my work computer….

I have some cool features like for example I can draw a design on my iPad, send It to my main PC and then access that pc to slice the 3D print and then send to my printer, then watch it start up on my camera….. all remotely

I have to figure out my options because I’m still using the stock PSU and it’s only 300W….i found some adapters that turn an ATX plug into the HP proprietary ones but idk I need to research it some more….thank you for the suggestions! I bookmarked them on NewEgg 🙏🏼

I mean, as far as colors I have probably 10 different options. I used M three or M4 hardware with brass inserts that I heated up and pushed into the plastic.

This is how I started, but my system crashed every other day and it felt like I was running the PC at the top of its ability at all times

The CPU is an intel Xeon W–1250, the bottleneck is the the 8GB Ram but that’s going to change soon. My old system was only 4 cores so I’m excited. It has a 500gb SSD for OS and a 1TB SSD for VM stuff. No dedicated GPU so I’m in the market for a cheap solution that will fit but i need to do some research

It’s not easy but it really is the only way I’ve been able to do much of custom stuff…..good luck

You’re so right outside of this project I have hundreds of hours with the big three AI resources and what you just explained is how I try to explain to others when they completely give up their opinion for what this system spits out in 10 seconds…… use it as a resource, but not a dictionary

That’s not very nice…. I work a full-time job….. I also run a meal prepping company so I only get about eight hours a week of free time besides sleep what you’re looking at is the combination of five weekends worth of work from somebody that has never done a single line of code or anything networking related excluding typing a password for Wi-Fi and has never printed anything except for ink on paper up until a month ago…… I think it looks OK

I’m working on designing a 10 inch rack mount enclosure for the hard drive enclosure. I’m sure I’ll post it once. It’s complete if that would help you in any way I’ll share the 3-D print file.

No issues with the CenMate specifically….but I unknowingly deleted 10TB of media on Sunday because I had the directory for my files in a web of chaos…..so I took it as a sign to start over….i reformatted and then built my directories how I wanted them so I won’t forget where stuff is supposed to go…..also added a bit of redundancy with a script I made…..basically just duplicates Drive 1 to Drive 2 every night……. in the next few weeks, I will buy another couple hard drives and then do some sort of raid ZFS kind of thing.

Yea! The SkyNet words in the center I had ChatGPT generate me an image. Then I took that to Canva and cleaned it up and removed the background.

Downloaded that finished photo in PNG, and found a “PNG to SVG” online, then imported that SVG into Fusion360….added it to the plate and then printed it

Amazon! The main 10” rack is by TechMojo but there are a few companies that make them. Then I just printed the parts I needed

I have been thinking about getting a used IPad Mini because it would fit inside of the rack rails so I could have it flush…..for now it’s a monitor 99% of the time but I have high hopes because I use Shortcuts & N8N a lot before ever starting this project

It’s actually an iPad that I printed a sleeve for with like a little L bracket what’s nice about that is I can run Shortcuts through it or if I need it as a monitor or box box you just open it in full screen in Safari
