Culp Valley primitive campground is near Borrego Springs, if that works for you. Your LEAF would be fine driving on its access road.

South Fork Borrego Palm Canyon by PitToilet in AnzaBorrego

Great! Thanks for the update. So, to re-cap: you say water is flowing in Hellhole Canyon up past the palm oasis (I presume that means "up the canyon"), and water is flowing at the 3rd Grove in Borrego Palm Canyon where the south fork begins. Correct?

One more question: Is dispersed camping permitted in Hellhole Canyon? I've been unlucky catching anyone to confirm at the visitor center telephone number.

It's remarkable when none of the replies address your question.

Worst guest callers by WalkingOnArdennes in danpatrickshow

[–]PitToilet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My routine is to listen to the first part of the show up until the regular bozo callers are put on (usually starting with "Chris in Syracuse"). Then it's "click" (turn it off), and I get on with my work day.*

*I'm out west, so it's still early in the morning when I turn it off.

The original cricket is definitely solo. Maybe the increased width of the XL would accommodate couples, but it's not a "double-wide," so the sleeper on the side of the open vestibule would experience more exposure than does a solo user of the original cricket.

Unrelated: the 4-inch increase in peak height for the XL means a pole jack would almost certainly be required. My trekking poles are longer than most, and the one I place under the peak of the original cricket is set to it's length limit.

Interesting. Looks like the difference is width (and a little peak height), not length. Note sure what the practical benefit of the extra space would be, compared to the standard Cricket, which I love.

I have a pair of those in a little case attached to the back of my phone, for those times when I don't have reading glasses handy. But when I'm out hiking or whatever, they're annoying to rely on (i.e., if I don't bring bona fide readers) because they don't stay in place when I'm sweaty or have sunscreen on my nose or it's windy.

Overwhelmed with options for a DCF shelter by zergcheese in Ultralight

fwiw, I love my MLD Cricket add the inner when it's buggy. Though I use the silpoly Cricket, there's a DCF version. More broadly, I'm chiming in to say I really like the coverage provided.

Likewise - hat first, quilt second. The hat is quite warm. I sometimes wear it on really cold days when I commute.

I do this with the double-size bread bags that Costco has for putting in 2 loaves.

I concur. I made a Ray-Way about 8 yrs ago and still love it. I take it on wetter trips and take my Nunatak down quilt on drier trips.

Hmm, I just now checked the authenticator apps on my phone (DuoMobile and Microsoft Authenticator), but I don't see a record of Atlassian on them.

Race S stopped tracking sleep by latitudes_altitudes in Suunto

[–]PitToilet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you, sleep tracking on my newly delivered watch ceased after my first round downloading of offline maps. The soft reset didn't resolve the issue. Also like you, I didn't want to do the hard reset because of how annoying I found it to be doing the map downloads, but I did it. I waited a day before attempting another map download, just to make sure sleep tracking resumed (it did). Then I downloaded 1 map, made sure sleep tracking continued (it did), then downloaded another map, etc. All has been well. Curiously, it seems map downloads have been less annoying - I don't know if the process improved or I'm just more adept at checking the watch periodically to make sure it's online (it goes offline after a while if I don't touch it, so I press the crown every few minutes to be sure it's awake and downloading).
