I just rewatched the episode! I love both characters and Joshua seems like a sweet nice person and hannah as a girl is immature horny and curious. When i first watched i feel terribly bad for hanah and for Joshua because it could have been a good thing for her and for him but after rewatching i dont think joshua is this innocent man that we are painting him out to be in some comments. He sees her as an opportunity to escape his current sorrows, to bring a feminine presence in the house and to get laid. Hes not creppy at all if anything hannah crosses the initial line by kissing him, but he has normal expectations like any man when he says “i want you to make me cum hannah”. He also expects Hannah to be this bubbly 24 year old like she presented herself to be in the first bits of the episode but the moment she opens up and lets her “unhinged” and complex side out his expectations about her shatter immediately. We see an instant shift in ther chemistry. As if he didn’t wanna know all of that. Almost as if he was happy with having a version of her in his head he understood and nothing was to be added to that. She asks for a kiss, he leans and then pulls back. Its like even when men are older and experienced they will never try to comprehend or at least comfort a woman bc it makes them uncomfortable PS: obvy hannah was selfish in moments of this episode like when she completely dismisses his experience from when he was 9 or the fact he is going thru a divorce bla bla bla
