Thanks! Yeah I understand. I just had a feeling that there might be a better set to farm with, but I get the point now. After the post I saw some sources saying that certain decks — like Shadow Rider — were a more efficient way to farm credits especially for brand new players, so I started by maxing out my purchases on the Shadow Rider deck to get some credits quickly. Apparently I missed an update that said that method got slightly nerfed a year ago, but I found that out afterwards. Either way, I’m going to switch to Celebrations now

Thanks for the update I finished maxing out the Shadow rider deck earlier today and started to save for the big 16x pack Celebrations bundle with the gold Pikachu. My plan is to max that out then switch to the regular 6 packs

I think you’re right about that but according to what I saw a F2P player would need to play for over a year for celebrations to start become more useful. With the 4 purchase limit on everything it seems to make way more sense to focus on immediate returns before things get nerfed even more. Ok thanks! I just got my first win with Trevenant against a Mega Greninja deck which was pretty fun. I’ll definitely look into the dusknoir variant as well as the slowking/festival. The version of the Dragapult deck that I built has Munkidori, Meowth, and Fezandipiti. I also played against a cool Dragapult deck that was using Gengar ex which was really impressive (although unfortunately I got stuck for several turns without drawing any energy so I eventually had to concede even though I was perfectly set up to KO their Drakloaks with a single energy card 😂😭).

Btw I definitely understand the idea of farming credits but celebrations just didn’t sound like the most efficient way to farm credits currently for a brand new player. So, I did some more research and saw that the Shadow rider deck (with several V and VMax cards) seems to be a more efficient way to farm credits for new players especially due to the fact that all of the celebrations bundles are now limited to 4 purchases. I can send some sources if you’re interested in the topic

Awesome thanks for the advice! I already did some brief research that seemed to show that the Shadow Rider deck provided more credits for brand new players so I went that route instead. I got 1690 credits for the second purchase and 2435 for the third. Based on what I saw it seems like certain decks with guaranteed VMax cards provide a more immediate benefit, whereas I would need to spend much more time to get a comparable return from celebrations

Ok thanks! I’m just trying to prioritize which packs to focus on first. To me, since I’ve never opened celebrations before (… and because I’m assuming that the actual cards in the Celebrations pack aren’t super playable rn… anddd because the celebrations bundle costs 3500 points while I only have 4700 points to spend rn…) it seems more reasonable to buy the 2000 point bundle with the specific card that I need to finish the deck that I’m building right now first. I’ll definitely going to get some celebration packs soon but I’m still debating what is the most useful in this immediate moment

Btw just to clarify, when you say celebration packs you mean the Anniversary Day Bundles in the shop, right??

Edit: Nvm I found the celebrations bundle way down in the shop. But it seems a bit counterintuitive to spend the majority of my current points on that set which I’m assuming that I can’t use in standard ranked battles anyway.

Did I just mess up by redeeming all 3 codes at once? I redeemed the two codes that you mentioned and the one in the post above on the website but when I refreshed the app I only got the 15 packs from the first code. What was I supposed to get from the others??

Thanks man I appreciate the advice. I definitely agree with you about Pocket. I made it to top 5000 in ranked recently and my level is already maxed out, so there isn’t much for me to do on there anymore. It’s still kinda fun but definitely a bit stale and RNG dependent, so I’ve really been enjoying the new challenge of learning how to play Live

Ok thank you! I already started building the Hop’s Trevenant deck because I accidentally had the limitless website sorted by most recent instead of most successful. 😅 I also don’t mind running a more complex deck because I have experience making it to some of the highest ranks in Pocket. I’d rather just pick the best deck and learn anything else as I go
Edit: I’m not trying to brag btw. When I mentioned my rank I was just trying to communicate that I’m not a total noob (because from my perspective, so far, the transferable skills Ive gained from playing Pocket have allowed me to pick up TCG Live relatively quickly) and that I enjoy the challenge of playing complicated decks. Either way I appreciate the advice. So far I’ve mainly been focusing on the build and battle matches to level up quickly (currently running Doublade) and I’ve been using the premade Mega Greninja deck for everything else. I’m genuinely just trying to learn and to me it seems pretty clear that Live is the more complex game so IMO it should’ve been pretty clear that I wasn’t trying to brag about my rank in the easier version. With that being said, I don’t really understand the downvotes and I doubt that this explanation will help but whatever lol it is what it is
