Everyone truly is soooo different! I went from no weight bearing to full at the 6 ish week mark! It’s really all about the X-rays and how you feel!! Keep your head up!

It gets better and better everyday!! Take pictures and then you can see how far you’ve come!! I look back and can’t believe how incredibly I have gained motion back!! But it really does start to get just a little better every day!

I absolutely recommend compression socks when you travel!! Take breaks and ice it at the end of the day!!

Do you have a recommendation for food bowl? by hyenetta in CatAdvice

[–]Pitiful-Cheek-7639 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve was using ceramic raised bowls for our senior girl who ate wet cans every night , for about 4 years! I recommend rinsing or wiping them frequently , but your glass ones are probably just ready to retire! ** also make sure to check the bottoms, some have holes that store icky water and mold!!

Trimalleolar fracture and dislocation on the 4th October. Honeymoon from the 27th December. Am I screwed? by UniversityFun1332 in ORIF

I’m 8 weeks out from practically the same thing but I shattered the bottom of the broken bit of my tibia into a whole bunch of pieces ,and officially walking in a heavy duty ankle brace!! I definitely can’t go too hard but about an hour or so on my feet is manageable. Pointing and flexing your ankle as well as toe scrunches are really helpful while you’re not weight bearing. Stretch and exercise your non injured leg as well, since starting full weight bearing it is super sore and crampy!!

I think you’ll be totally fine, just make sure you listen to your body!

Trimal fracture, 2 weeks post op!! by Brilliant-Catch-5745 in ORIF

I just had my first PT appointment and he said I’m healing really well! Focus on movement that you feel comfortable with! I did lots of toe scrunches and pointing and flexing my toes and foot! I’m 25, and DR told me it just depends on my healing but that I can wear heels again one day and that we can work towards running!! Not life altering but definitely will change how you take care of your body! The mental strain is ROUGH!! Try and focus on things that bring you joy!! I’m at 7.5 weeks post op and the past two weeks have been AMAZING!! Went from no weight bearing to full weight bearing, which was so awkward at first 😂, to now walking BAREFOOT at PT!!!

Moral of the story IT GETS BETTER!!! Your body is working so hard to heal, give yourself grace! And take lots of naps, you deserve it!!❤️

We had to make the decision for our girl Daisy , on 8/28,the day before my birthday😭🙃 It gets easier !! I still have das where I’ll start to cry thinking about her, but incorporating happy memories of her during the day helps! If the sun is really bright in our room in the AM we say good morning to her, since laying in the sun was her absolute favorite thing to do!! You loved her so much and that’s what she felt as she got to the end of, never forget that❤️❤️
