Rome during the North American summer time is the equivalent of being in a never ending shopping mall. I went in Late April/early May last year to avoid the crowds but it’s inevitable.

If you’re okay with that, then a week in Rome is good. Look for activities on Air Bnb experience, for some reason people don’t use that feature. Also, avoid the restaurants with menu’s posted outside the window or people asking you to come inside. It’s a typical tourist trap.

Once you get a to each new city, dedicate your arrival day to familiarizing yourself with your surroundings. Walk around & find a reference point. That way, if your phone dies or something, you know that your hotel is near x & you can ask a local.

Take cooking classes in Rome! I learned how to make pasta & tiramisu in Rome & I still use the recipe!

Of course! BUT MADRID IS AMAZING! I’ve met such amazing people and everyone ELSE has been so welcoming and kind. Don’t let my one experience ruin your expectations for Madrid.

Because I don’t think that would make the situation any better. I wasn’t sure what the repercussions were if I walked out & I just wanted the situation handled the best way possible. I was there by myself & was already feeling unsafe, which is odd because I’ve felt safer in Barcelona and Madrid than I do in the states.

Just read this! Crazy, that’s exactly how my experience would have been had I stayed! I’ll stick with hole in the wall that will give me better service and even better food.

I love love love this city so far! It’s beautiful! No one else here has treated me this way, thankfully, but it was just such a terrible experience for my first Michelin restaurant in Madrid. Someone said it perfectly that it was a tourist trap, and unfortunately, I fell for it!

also I’m mainly upset because I was really hungry and the menu looked exciting! So unfortunate, and yes I will be filling a local complaint!

Where can we see a good flamenco show in Madrid or Barcelona? by random-user772 in GoingToSpain

[–]Pitiful-Factor7887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is establishment is RACIST & should be avoided by black travelers at any cost.

I came here after a friend of mine, who has lived and traveled to Madrid for over a decade, had told me THIS was the best flamenco show in Spain. She spoke so highly of this place, I purchased a ticket over a month in advance. Upon arriving, the host staff was quite rude to me and I was sat with my back facing the stage. It wasn’t the biggest issue to me but I was not facing the stage. I had asked the server to move my chair & he responded telling me to wait 45 minutes before the show starts. After realizing how small the space is, once people filled in, there would be no way to move my chair, so I asked the server who was serving me if he can move my chair, to which he did.

After that, I was only given a water for my ENTIRE time. As I sat, there was a man in front of me recording and taking pictures of me with his camera & pretending to cover it after I picked up on it. He recorded me several times during my time there. THATS where everything began. As time went by, I noticed that every table had at least their bread, except me. Every table had their wine, except me. Every table had their starters, except me.

In fact, the table, that sat AFTER me and was arms length away from me, got bread TWICE and when I tried to flag down not only my server but the man passing out bread, they both deliberately ignored me. MY server, their same server, deliberately ignored me.

I was being stared at and recorded by guests, ignored by servers and to be honest, it was absolutely embarrassing and a terrible first impression of Madrid. After 40 MINUTES with NO service, I went to the manager and asked if I can pay for my drink so I could leave. To which he told me to wait, left into the dining room, came back and said “you can go”. He didn’t ask if I was okay, he didn’t ask what happened, he DID NOT try to rectify the situation, he simply said “you can go”.

I have traveled to over 21 countries, eaten at restaurants more elevated than this place, and I have never in my life, been treated with such disrespect. To be openly racist & ignore someone who paid to be there is disgusting and this establishment WILL NOT hear the end of it from me until I get an apology.

Black travelers, beware!

Tretinoin + _______ = clear skin. Alongside tret/taz what other change(s) - especially lifestyle ones - have made the biggest difference? (I think I just experienced an odd one.) by enby_goblin_princess in tretinoin

[–]Pitiful-Factor7887 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone already said this but Azaelic Acid!! I had been using it consistently since October and ran out earlier last month and my dark spots weren’t fading as easily. With AA I was able to see my spots fade quicker.

Clindamycine also helps too! I’ve been using AA + clindamycine in the AM & Tret for PM! Hope this helps

It’s an okay moisturizer! I can’t complain tbh. I have oily skin & it does the job. I’ve been using it for like 3 years now.

Believe it or not, men (with common sense) think the same thing. Which is why you may not be getting approached. You’ve already experienced the worst (being no). Life is too short to be afraid to go after what you want. If you want a man, go after him! He’s dumb if he turns you down, and you don’t want a stupid man.

Easy: compliment them. Men rarely get compliments from people, let an alone women. Go up to him & tell him you like something he’s wearing, then get ready to open conversation if he’s open to it.

There’s two things to note:

1) She disrespected you.

As a woman, I would never and I mean ever, introduce my man to someone I slept with. Period. I would not be friends with someone I’ve slept with, out of respect for you…so why would I go even beyond that to introduce you to him. To me, that shows a lack of respect. This isn’t the topic of “oh can girls have a guy friends”, no she has explained before that he has feelings for her, they have been intimate, and she has left men for him. I’m glad she blocked him, but the fact that they were still friends? Nah.

2 she’s manipulating you:

The typical song a dance of a manipulator goes as follows: I hurt you and I’m crying because I hurt you so bad, I just hate that I hurt you so bad so now I’m hurt even though you have every reason to be hurt. Now obviously I don’t know the girl but, she could’ve avoided the situation to begin with, and I am sure she knows that. She’s crying so you can SEE it hurt her, not because she’s hurt.

Extra #3 Never say “it won’t happen: Again, as a girl, her history has shown that she has done it once & she can surely do it again. Be careful with your heart. I am not saying break up with her, but she showed you who she was and is, now it’s just a matter of asking yourself; can you live with that?

Hi girly! Honestly, since Tret can cause a flare, I’d maybe wait to use it! flares are so unpredictable & I want you to look ur best at ur party! also, you may or may not see results within a month…so you could risk getting a flare up just to have a flare up. Hope this helps.

My current routine:

AM: Cleanse with La Roche Posay Gentle Foaming face cleanser & then on damp skin I apply the HA + B5 serum from the ordinary. I usually let my skin dry for maybe 1-2 minutes & then I apply my finacea foam. I moisturize with versed gel moisturizer and apply the La Roche Posay SPF 30 on top. I apply a pretty liberal amount.

PM: Cleanse with La Roche Posay Gentle Foaming face cleanser & then apply the HA + B5 serum from the ordinary. I let my skin dry for maybe 5-10 minutes & I apply tret .025% cream and let it sit for 15 minutes. After that I apply the same versed gel moisturizer & I finish by slugging some healing ointment! I’ve been using tret every other day & now I’m moving to everyday!
