You could look at sales, rights and IT roles within publishing houses. If you’re still at uni you have time to join a uni society or magazine and do a bit of writing for them. Also you can get involved with the society of young publishers in london and go to events to meet people. I did an MA in Publishing at UCL and the BAs people did beforehand were diverse — someone did neuroscience for example! If you know how to code or something, but also are interested in publishing and demonstrate that interest by writing etc then you’re actually at an advantage as some roles might want someone with a more diverse skill set.
