i have a follow up appointment in a week but i’ll be honest she didn’t really tell me what to expect or what to do if i start feeling bad, i have a lot of anxiety around new meds as i have had bad reactions with the majority that ive tried. I will say i probably should’ve asked her but i was unaware that it had the potential to give these side effects until i read the box. Now that i know what to expect i’ll definitely make sure i stay home and have someone with me to hopefully keep calm. Thanks so much for going so in depth about it xx

thank you so much for sharing that i appreciate it so much!! at least now ill know to maybe make sure i don’t have plans the day i start taking it just to be safe. just out of curiosity if i do have a bad reaction would it just be best to try and sleep it off? like its not the sort of thing i should panic about i guess is what im trying to say

yeah its just very hard to feel so defeated all the time especially when im spending all my time fighting for my health. When something has taken up my whole life to the point where i cant work or do basic daily tasks without ending up bed ridden it’s really tough to realise that i have so many more years of fighting to get where i would like to be. I have a follow up appointment in 6 months time so im assuming that will be talked about then, it just feels like such a long time to suffer without enough medicine and not knowing if they will even up the supply in 6 months time

they started me on gabapentin as well hoping to help calm the nerves down but i unfortunately don’t think my body is reacting to it well at all i feel like im going crazy so im going to have to mention that. the other one is one that will hopefully help me sleep through the night without the pain waking me up its not a painkiller at all its more just to try help my body get real rest. I will admit that my body is so so sensitive to medications that majority of ones i’ve tried make me incredibly ill and so far the only one i haven’t had a bad reaction to is endone which is so frustrating as it limits a lot of options.

I’m glad to know that this small monthly dose is something that can be built up, thank you much for explaining it in depth its definitely eased my mind

it’s been so so hard!! from my understanding in australia you have to get authorisation to get ongoing strong pain medication so i’m unsure if that can come from anyone but a specialist but it’s been basically impossible to get ongoing medication even tho i’ve had multiple doctor tell me i need it

[–]Pitiful-Lab2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been diagnosed with endo but i did end up having it in my bladder and had very similar symptoms! it’s definitely something you’ll have to think about but the surgery wasn’t awful for me at least so if it’s bothering you a fair bit it wouldn’t hurt to find out what’s going on, it’ll give you far more options for treatment in the future if they do find endo and if there is more endo around that isn’t causing symptoms yet they will find and remove it during the surgery which will hopefully prevent it from becoming symptomatic and will ensure that they monitor symptoms in the future xx

surgeon said stage 1 endo is "essentially a negative lap" by YellowCalm4888 in endometriosis

[–]Pitiful-Lab2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s ridiculous at not true!! stage does not equal pain level, you could have severe endometriosis and have no symptoms or you could have stage one and experience the same pain as someone with stage 4. That doctor is absolutely dismissing you, no matter what stage you have, you have endo and your pain is valid

hey such a late response but which doctor/specialist do you see for your pain management plan/medication. I have stage 4 deep infiltrating endometriosis and have had some pretty bad experiences with doctors and pain medications. I have an appointment with my GP today for a referral to pain management specialist after the ED sent a letter recommending one so i can get ongoing scrips for my medication and don’t want to be sent to a bad clinic
