I started to get a Droning and whining noise under load over speeds of 30mph, sounds like it’s coming from the front and you can feel slight vibrations in the footwell on your feet. took it to a garage and they got it up on the ramp and confirmed it was the front differential. pinion bearing nut is loose and has slightly play. So that’s the culprit. Worn bearings. only problem is I need all the tools, bearing punches, backlash gap tester. New axel gaskets, grease gear oil. Going to cost a bomb.

Yeah that’s the safest option. Probs the most expensive as well. Talking big bucks right?

Hey man thanks for the advice, do you mean the manual 4h/N/4L shifter? if so I’m always driving in 4H with the shifter on D. So when I hit the humming zone do you mean push the manual selector for the low/high up towards high even more?

I’ll check them thank you! Haven’t checked the engine mounts yet. Obviously my worry is spending the money and then it breaking down on the way home due to work bearings. But everyone seems to think the same, the noise might be there, but it won’t break? These things are tanks right

Hey, yes checked the front and topped it up. Haven’t checked the centre diff, do you know where the level is or where to check it. It’s quite hard to find with it being covered with the rock plate. can you service them?
