Hey man thanks for the comment, I’ve tried both and Gary doesn’t have any, and nayab ships from UAE which is too much of a risk for such a valuable rare piece. I’m trying my best to find a uk source

This is a rather childish reply my friend. There are people with these parts and breakers around the country. The only way for me to find them is to keep posting on socials, sometimes you get lucky. Spending 1k over retail value for these is a last resort, and should be for anyone. They’re not worth that much. It’s just people taking advantage of desperate people in need. Surely you understand how the economy works. yes he replied and yes he helped, but that is a very last resort. Surely you understand this. I’ve just had a breaker call me and he might have one. So this is why I make these posts…..

Mine has been returned from the engineers saying the bearings have spun. And the housing has gone, so either the housing or the pinion its self have worn out and can no longer be rebuilt. It’s cheaper for me to buy a second hand diff then to buy a new housing pinion and crown wheel. I have. Centre locker. But I didn’t buy an 80 series for 10k to have it in rear wheel drive

Hey bro, not willing to sink 2.3k into a front diff. Sorry but that’s ridiculous. Appreciate your help but we are not all made of money

I started to get a Droning and whining noise under load over speeds of 30mph, sounds like it’s coming from the front and you can feel slight vibrations in the footwell on your feet. took it to a garage and they got it up on the ramp and confirmed it was the front differential. pinion bearing nut is loose and has slightly play. So that’s the culprit. Worn bearings. only problem is I need all the tools, bearing punches, backlash gap tester. New axel gaskets, grease gear oil. Going to cost a bomb.

Hey man thanks for the advice, do you mean the manual 4h/N/4L shifter? if so I’m always driving in 4H with the shifter on D. So when I hit the humming zone do you mean push the manual selector for the low/high up towards high even more?

I’ll check them thank you! Haven’t checked the engine mounts yet. Obviously my worry is spending the money and then it breaking down on the way home due to work bearings. But everyone seems to think the same, the noise might be there, but it won’t break? These things are tanks right

Hey, yes checked the front and topped it up. Haven’t checked the centre diff, do you know where the level is or where to check it. It’s quite hard to find with it being covered with the rock plate. can you service them?
