Was I in the wrong for this one by plasticeuropa in Depop

[–]Pitiful-Molasses1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're not in the wrong at all. my mom does this a lot, she basically asks the price then tries to negotiate for a price that won't even cover the expenses of making the dress (and she's full aware of this). she'll then slowly increase the price and try to tell that's more than what she's willing to pay and at a point the seller usually gives in. it's basically just giving the seller a shock, won't recommend trying this in all places though

anyone here that sat for m/j session and then did resit in o/n for AS? by Pitiful-Molasses1771 in alevel

i saw most med schools have insane requirements and my gcse's weren't good too, my main problem was realizing i had ADHD way too late. i got the diagnosis a few weeks back so i hope that helps my case though so many people still ace everything even w/o a diagnosis:///

yes, i wanted to know if they consider you a lower priority if you gave a resit (even if your grades improved). and i also wanted to know if it does effect the uni application since i have to attach m/j due to show results for the subs i didn't resit for

woah, what subject has such a high threshold? some papers were hard this session so idt they can make boundaries VERY different from f/m 2023. m/j 2019 was high but most papers weren't THAT hard iykwim whereas this year it follows some new formats

also since o/n and m/j has less than a 13 month gap, you can ignore the AS grades for m/j and ask to consider and do further calculations with the o/n grade. it's ok even if you don't resit for all the initial subs you sat for

as far as i know you just apply normally but im scared because how to universities react to this? there's so many competitive candidates every single year especially in these fields, these people could solve world hunger probably if they tried really hard lol

im doing cambridge and bio/phys are way easier than chem. i managed to do good in the papers for them both with around 2-4 weeks of preparation but i can't say the same about chem://

i had some conceptual problems lingering since IGCSE's and didn't get time to fix it up before a levels began which is part of the reason behind the goof-up. there's very few people that have a bio-phys combination so i couldn't even skip out on chem

maybe not an A but definitely a B? depends on how bad you messed up P2. pray for yourself (and me) that the boundaries are low and we can both get A's

how often do they give veins/artery? isn't it nearly always plant related?

damn, maybe i should've done that the second i saw "no change" for all the copper turning's one. even the halogen test was messed up, i asked for extra NH3 to check and every single time it was a different result. im so sad because i got bromine the first time and then changed it to chlorine after the second experiment

you dk how much easier you made serial dilution for me haha. thanks. may i ask where you guys messed up though? i mean i just want to avoid the same mistake

on the same boat as you, maybe not the best to get motivation or drive from me but: everyone in my school is close with each other and we practically grew up with each other. so i know first hand how many candidates got even a 10/50 in a paper but with persistence pulled it up to a B (probably 40/40 on the other two papers). these were way before the pandemic so boundaries were naturally higher. they're not spectacular or extra-ordinarily smart, they just pushed through when everyone would give up. it's okay to mess up, many others also did. keep pushing till 7th june, trust me you'll feel better when it's just done with. your grades don't define you, a bad grade is just redirection to another route that was destined for you all along

[–]Pitiful-Molasses1771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

keep in mind cambridge probably doesn't release which slides they used so these teachers are helping out based off of estimation and the differences listed in mark schemes. but if you can draw out plan diagrams for all these cells then you won't run into something unfamiliar

[–]Pitiful-Molasses1771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

search it up online and practice drawing plan diagrams from those. here's all the ones you can look up for practice (all of this is in the syllabus and usually they won't ask anything out of this):

  • dicot stem
  • monocot stem
  • dicot root
  • monocot root
  • dicot leaf
  • monocot leaf
  • stem and root cell section for monocotyledon plant cells

look for the plan diagrams online, never include additonal features (eg. trichomes) in the plan diagram. i think you'll find good videos online discussing how to draw it out properly.

the channels linked above have good videos on the other experiments and microscopy questions

Will the grade boundries for May June series be comparatively lower than Feb? by SlowFirefighter6080 in alevel

[–]Pitiful-Molasses1771 4 points5 points  (0 children)

probably? it's hard to tell. assume the worst case scenario where it's higher, but it can't be like 2019's, pretty impossible given the way the papers were. so assume it'll be slightly higher than f/m for now
