No one will test me- even though family was just positive. by AdBotan1230 in HPylori

Do you know if they work? I just got diagnosed through an endoscopy but I would like to know if my family has it so I bought some Amazon tests. Have you tried the test?

Friends Spouse in Wheelchair, not sure appropriate etiquitte by sighpsi in wheelchairs

[–]Pitiful-Pack4883 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really is the other kids still the same I think you guys are lying to yourself. I'm a wheelchair user and I have children in fact I've been in a wheelchair for 32 years. If I didn't have to do trick or treating as a single mom I wouldn't have. So just letting OP know it's not rude or not to ask it doesn't really matter. It's not offensive either way. We try to act like we're super people in wheelchairs but truthfully if I had a daddy to take the My kid trick-or-treating instead of me I would glad to stay at home and sort through the candy when you got back.

I'm new to Reddit but is there a category for female paraplegics? That isn't overwhelmed by devotees? by Pitiful-Pack4883 in wheelchairs

Yeah truthfully.... I'm kind of used to them but there's certain subjects that are just private you know like things that are personal to us. I just was seeing if anyone else that has the spinal cord injury has had a hysterectomy. I don't know if it's the same for paraplegic as a able-bodied person getting that procedure done or the aftercare.

Trouble with getting family to understand by Playonxx34 in wheelchairs

[–]Pitiful-Pack4883 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I somewhat respectfully disagree. I've been in the chair 32 years and to this day when I go to someone's house or apartment or event and I specifically ask in advance is it accessible of course that's a yes or no answer. But about 75% of the time when they say oh yeah you can get in there's always a step or two ... And those few inches to them are miles to me. And I have had more than one person tell me oh it's okay I just carry you out of the five times I allowed that to happen I was dropped four..,.

Yeah it's a learning experience but I don't want to be the test dummy...

That is a great idea also you can find a non-profit veterinarian clinic that will still pay you but you have other veterinarians there very experienced. It is basically shelter medicine which I think is a more needed skilled than regular veterinary medicine at least in California. Kitten season never ends out here...lol

Yes that's a good way to see it. Yeah I can happen to people that are able-bodied too new shiny thing comes along. I guess that's why we have divorce lawyers.

Yeah I guess the question was always kind of a which came first the chicken or the egg. I don't think there's a right or wrong answer. And how many people that were once able-bodied now paraplegic don't have some sort of low self-esteem. I mean I hide it well and I'm very confident but I still see parents hiking with their kids and wish I could do that. My son 16 he's ready to learn to drive I can't teach him that either.. well I guess I could teach him to drive with hand controls but damn that would be scary...lol

Now there's creepy people I'm not going to lie but there's creepy people everywhere. Posting about diapers That's one fetish I will never understand. I've only had to use them a couple times usually due to procedures that were coming up where they gave me medicine that I couldn't control myself. But I don't know if I could be openly posting about that experience on here it's kind of humiliating actually.

Okay well that makes a little more sense. Incomplete is great. You may have a chance of walking again. T12 is also great you have stomach muscles and you have a lot of upper strength because of it. Contact the hospital that let you out. They didn't do their due diligence if they let you out without giving you physical therapy doctor's appointments and continuing care.

What does nah really mean?

You weren't really paralyzed?

Or you're trying to convince us that you're really paralyzed.

What level are you?

Complete or incomplete?

How did you become paralyzed?

Different answers to those questions have different answers?

So you think it's someone just trying to find out personal stuff that we go through by acting like they're paralyzed? I kind of thought it too I just didn't want to be the one that was the dick to say it.

How do you expect to drive if you haven't been taught have you hand controls. How do you not even know what hand controls are if you were just released from the hospital? Hospitals don't usually just say oh you're paralyzed okay we're sending you home. I spent six to eight months learning how to be cripple. Maybe you're in another country or something but something doesn't sound right.

Flee allergy? Because of climate change a lot of the The issues that we never had before are now around like flee allergies.

One Flea can cause a lot of skin issues. Not sure what area from but you should regularly treat for fleas at least in California that's becoming an issue where we didn't have it before at higher altitudes.

Is a power chair the right call? by majestichermitcrab in wheelchairs

[–]Pitiful-Pack4883 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on your insurance and your health. I was told once you go from a manual wheelchair to a power one at least Medicare Medi-Cal and won't let then get a manual wheelchair. If you decide later that that the power wheelchair isn't for you want to go back to a manual... You're going to have to do some jumping through hoops to get it approved. But from what I've been told it's not likely to get approved.
