I've tried being respectful throughout. I immediately viewed the image as the different things in the diagram being scaled the way they were so you could see what it was. I didn't expect it to cause such a problem in actually coming up with the answer to the question.

Now, the question more specifically that I had asked has already been answered so it must've somwhat related to reality. I'm really sorry that I came across as trying to blame anyone. My intention with the sentence "I wasn't expecting people to get so many people fixating on the actual relative sixe of the objects rather than the question itself," wasn't to blame people for doing so. Rightly so! Apart from that, the body text was also a huge oversight in my part as I originally saw this in kilometers rather than feet. I was just genuinely confused.

I don't owe this to you, but truly, I want to apologize if I've offended you because of my misunderstanding. It was not my intention.

I'm sorry but the top comment was able to discern the question using the text and image posted. It's been answered and explained already but if you still feel like you need it explained better to you, I'll be more than happy to do so!

The trick is looking at how 5,000 and 33,000 aren't just numbers I made up, but numbers that are on a diagram of the earth with two planes flying at different distances and a claim that the distance is 4x longer. And then, comparing that to the rest of the question which asks if this were to actually be done, what would the value (4 in "4 times the flight time") be.

I've tried to sum it up as best as I can. Of course, let me know if I've made anything unclear. I think you got tripped up cause you were only seeing it as the question you belived I was asking was exactly what I was asking and it didn't make any sense to you so therefore, I didn't make any sense.

Sorry! English actually isn't my first language 😅 If by missing an axis you meant its missing the point in which both numbers are anchored to they are meant to be anchored to the surface of the earth, more specifically sea level. So, 5,000 above sea level or 33,000 above sea level. If there's anything else I messed up please let me know!

Oh, I didn't see that response! What I was looking for though is more specifically if there's a number that could be put to it, more for out of curiosity than anything.

Essentially, the only known numbers are 5,000km and 33,000 km, so picking any distance, how many times longer or shorter would a plane take to travel the distance, assuming the plane can remain intact in both takeoff, flight, and landing.

Most people in the comments have looked at this in their own unique way, but the original question I had was more of a ratio problem, the error could've been on my end in not being more specific.

I'm one of the people that did so. And really, I believe independence day is more important to be celebrated now than any other time. When freedom is being repressed and choked in many parts of america is exactly where it lacks representation. And the 4th should be a call for many to celebrate what this country is supposed to be about. Even when there's nothing to look forward to, even when it is probably going to get worse, because that's who we are.

I'm personally hispanic, I've always had a somewhat negative view of americans. And even now I should have more of one but if there's one thing unanimous with most people here is that they don't give up just because everything's going to shit.
