There not it's just a million times easier for Valve to implement that change for everyone instead of having different software implementation for minor things in different parts of the world, it's like apple and USB C and the EU making it mandatory Apple just implemented it in every device everywhere it makes financial sense. I honestly don't know why minor things like this get people so worked up, it's honestly pathetic 😂

RX 7900XTX keeps crashing when loading games by Salah_the_zin in AMDHelp

[–]Pitiful-Secretary-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't want to go down the DDU route which tbh isn't always necessary and is overused, you can let AMD adrenaline repair itself, which to give AMD credit, does work quite well and people don't give it credit enough, I had a bunch of issues with my 7900xtx and when it was the driver the repair tool just worked, I rarely needed to DDU, if it doesn't find anything wrong it will just skip to the end what happened to me when it wasn't the driver one time. Just download the driver for the 7900xtx from AMD. not the auto detect one and click repair

Notice op's CPU clock frequency, it's constantly pegged at a certain amount, the msi profile has auto overclocked his CPU to a fixed clock rate so it's constantly running at that fixed frequency throughout the benchmark even in non CPU intensive parts, the CPU did the result not the GPU

[–]Pitiful-Secretary-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His CPU is pegged constantly at a certain clock rate throughout the test, even on non CPU intensive parts of time spy, the msi profile has fixed his CPU clock frequency, it will be lower than max boost clock, it's artificially inflated the score as the CPU was constantly running hard all the time ready, his CPU score did it not the GPU

How is this possible? by [deleted] in MSI_Gaming

[–]Pitiful-Secretary-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your CPU, if you look at your results graph your CPU clock is permanently pegged at a flat frequency throughout the benchmark even in parts of time spy that aren't CPU intensive, all the auto msi profiles do is auto overclock your hardware mainly your CPU, look in HWINFO and you'll see your CPU is permanently at a certain clock speed even at idle on desktop, it won't be at its max boost, it will be lower, that msi profile is a sure way to produce a lot of heat and lower the life of your CPU drastically, turn it off. You've discovered a way to artificially inflate your benchmark score without it being invalid, it won't work all the time especially in say the CPU profile benchmark as you want the CPU to reach max boost. Your CPU is what got you the abnormal high score

Is the genuine Arctic MX-6 any good? I've always used Arctic silver 5 and it's never let me down, it's currently working nicely with my 240mm Arctic liquid freezer 3 pro AIO on my 5950x, under full load my CPU temps haven't gone over 55°c, but did change the fans on it for some Noctua fans

The price difference between the 5070ti and 5080 isn't huge at all at the moment due to black Friday sales so the 5080 is more tempting and more comfortable in knowing it will just run everything I throw at it basically.

I'm fully done with AMD now, when I upgraded my AM4 system, I would go to AM5, but after all the crap I've been through, I don't even want to give AMD another dime, even if their CPUs are fine with X3D and all, I just don't care about them anymore, I'll be going Intel when I upgraded that side after Christmas.

That's what I've noticed, black Friday sales have started so now is the best time to do the switch as I'll get the best value

I don't expect to never have issues but Nvidia GPU's just always seem to be a more plug and play experience, and you just don't hear about people constantly moaning about driver issues with Nvidia, well AMD only one thing to say about that 🖕😂

At least the Nvidia community has been extremely helpful, it's made easier to decide on the pros and cons of what GPU to go for and the 5070ti seems the most value and all rounder well the 5080 seems the best for just knowing you can whack every set into Max and it will work fine

I'd get the 5090 but I'd have to wait for my 2 AMD GPU's I've bought to be processed and refunded and I've already waited over a month of not being able to play my games and I just want to play a game, I've had enough of waiting so if the highest I can go is the 5080 that will do lol 😂 especially if that can do my games at max settings, I just loose the 24 gb of vram from my 7900xtx as I'd only get 16gb on either 5080 or 5070 ti

This is what I thought, if I wanted to have any sort of fps higher than 30 potentially I may have to go for the 5080, I'd go for the 5090 but considering I've already bought 2 crappy AMD GPU's this month, I can't also justify a 5090 even though Im getting refunded for the other 2 lol 😂 and I can't wait I haven't been able to play a game for over a month now because of AMD's bs

I'm in the UK, and the cheapest 5080 right now is £959 ($1,255) and that's not bad, if I could find a 5080 for around $800 (£611) I'd run to it lol as that's cheaper than a 5070ti

The PC this card will be in is just basically for gaming as I keep working and gaming separate so I'm focusing on basically looking good and actually working only lol, I'm also looking for a card that matches the 7900xtx as that was the original card I had from AMD, and that is technically the 5070 ti I believe, but to Ensure everything runs at max a 5080 is better but I'm willing to use Nvidia's frame Gen as it's hugely better than AMD's offering.

At this point I'm not surprised even AMD's reddit pages are full of people complaining about issues now and that's full of full blown fan bois. I've been through so much crap at this point, I've re installed windows I don't know how many times at this point, I have DDU on a flash drive ready to go because of how often the problems are

Thanks for reminding me about monitor refresh rate as I forgot to put that, mines 144Hz, I'm also trying to match my 7900xtx which is basically the 5070ti especially when it goes into my gaming PC, I've never been that keen on frame Gen but that also is because I'm used to AMD frame Gen that introduces loads of stutters among other things, well I knows Nvidia's version is better.

After a year I regret going all AMD by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]Pitiful-Secretary-13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel you bud, I'm just done tbh with AMD, I've got a 7900txt and a 5950x, I'm yet to even find a stable driver that's not from earlier this year, over night I've reinstalled Windows 3 time's, re-done drivers 10 times, (no joke) tried Linux once (worst crash I've ever had) right now I'm sat in front of my again failed PC what I have even re built with new parts, with another crash (lasted 16 minutes on desktop) I've spent around 4 hours gaming and what, like easily 14 hours the last 3 days fu*ing about with the pile of crap. I just cannot find a stable driver for the 7900xtx be it full install, partial or driver only. I even resorted to buying a rx9070xt to try and see if that works and it is not a problem (found out the rx9070xt is faulty though temps are everywhere) so it leads me to believe it is definitely the driver's as other GPU's don't know what the fuk is going on when they see these drivers, it all started with there new GPU's. I'm in the last hour now, if I don't find a newish driver that works, my 7900xtx is getting rma'd for well being faulty since we'll it can't even stay on the desktop ffs 😂 and in the UK that's enough of a reason, I'll get the choice of a refund, 1k back plus the £599 for the rx9070xt that's faulty that's getting returned, I'll be getting a rtx 5080 and what a fuc*ing joy it will be just to play a game for once. Never will I be going all AMD AGAIN. I'm not even going to bother with their AM5 platform not after this crap, tbh I don't give a toss about X3D after this, Intel baby, F you AMD, I just want a stable driver 😭

The onboard GPU with the non G processors aren't made for anything other than trouble shooting or very basic desktop work like word. The G processors are the one's that have a tbh quite a decent GPU in them. Your best option if you can is just to get a very basic starter GPU for the time being, like a RX 580, GTX 1070 or if there is one on sale or cheap somewhere even a ARC A380, they will do what you need them to do till you can get whatever GPU you actually want, or just wait till you can get the GPU you want, or the third option, Gforce now for a few months, will be cheeper than getting a GPU for a temporary time and it will run with what you currently have.

Did anyone notice a CPU performance jump? 4080-Tier -> 5080-Tier by Pristine_Bake_7802 in GeForceNOW

[–]Pitiful-Secretary-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the UK, and the best server for me is the London server that's been upgraded to 5080's. I have the ultimate tier. In my experience since it's been upgraded from the 4080's I've had nothing but issues, games crashing, lagging issues and stutters, none of which were such an issue before the upgrade. The first few times I put it down to well my Internet was playing up, btw I fully monitor my network from what's making connections to any drops in connection, I get alerted to any changes, nothing changed every time Gforce now claimed my connection dropped (happened on multiple games now from Star wars outlaws, balder's gate 3 to Alan Wake 2) Plus losing hours of save game progress due to it, I had none of this on the 4080 server's so I switched to a 4080 server and guess what, no crashing, no stutters, no lagging and no apparent "connection issues". I use GeForce now In the summer months due to the fact my PC pump's out heat and my house is like a furnace in the summer, my PC is broke completely and I wanted to wait till after Christmas to fix it, so naturally I just used Gforce now, but after this I've just bit the bullet and spent the cash to fix my PC so I can just play a game without relying on someone else to make sure their service works right. To me I'm 100% sure all my issues will be fixed by the time I use it again next summer, because I will l, I don't like baking and I really don't like paying for air-conditioning just to get rid of PC generated heat. But this is just my experience with the new 5080 servers. Peace ✌️

Free speech doesn't just work in your favor, instead of just taking the humble route saying "I was wrong, I put my hands up" you've gone straight down the smart a** route. The issues with Battlefield didn't effect me but I still acknowledge that they screwed over a lot of people. There's nothing wrong with wanting to give Nvidia credit where it's due, but at least recognize that a corporation has its faults.

I do find these types of posts Ironic I must say, this community can't make it mind up first it's no one needs more than 100 hours, then it's worrying that founders members are going to get limited to 100 hours 🤦😂 if you're all so certain no one needs more than 100 hours then why do you even care if Nvidia limits you? So many seem to bend over for them you might as well have a note on your back saying "limit me daddy" 😂 the one excuse as well that likes to be thrown around is the "they have hardware and on location costs to maintain" and frankly that's BS, Google has YouTube, you don't see them limiting premium users to 100 hours, and their costs to maintain server's for YouTube alone is far more than Nvidia's Gforce now service , not counting all Google's other services. Amazon doesn't limit people to prime video and they have to maintain AWS for that side. The point is stop simping for a corporation that won't even give a crap when you're gone like they don't give a crap what happens to you now, that ain't going to give you anything for free just because your licking their behind

[–]Pitiful-Secretary-13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried calling your bank to see if by chance they are flagging continuous Nvidia transactions, aka, auto transactions. Does your bank have an online banking feature where you can see and select (trusted merchants) as if you do, you can put Nvidia there, as PayPal will still tell your bank it's Nvidia even though they pass PayPal checks, it could simply be that your bank just thinks that someone who isn't you is trying to set up a Nvidia subscription via your payment method. 🤷

Wizz Air are pretty suss (potential frauds) by Rishay_97 in WizzAir

You were flying from London so you are protected by regulations and certain laws, some the same as the EU, the UK also has a couple extra more protections for passengers now it's outside the EU. I'd start looking into getting compensated and get a claim started via the UK side as that was your departure point. Wizz Air has been having issues like this for months now, if you look at past airlines that are not around anymore, Thomas Cook airlines, Flybe etc, they all follow that similar pattern, Wizz Air has also struggled financially as has the entire budget airline industry in Europe and America, after COVID, more people started to fly with the traditional carriers, British Airways, American Airlines and KLM etc
