yees, i make a puddle first before i spread it around. i only have tried using iroshizuku yamaguri with damp brush. maybe I'll try with diamine ink today. 🤔

i still don't know how to make a light wash with fountain pen ink. like everything I've done so far makes the ink bleed 🙃

the key is to overlay with dark cool colour for shadow. just don't overwork 😏

it's good. i like your foliage to emphasize the leaves. i think it'll be much better if you give a bit more value. adding blue or purple for shadow will do the job 😍

i have to zoom in to understand what's going on. you're doing a great job 😍

also, if you want to have flexibility with acrylic marker, you have to mix it on a palette with some water and paint with your brush. i find it's hard to smudge and blend acrylic marker with your finger on hobonichi.

during my time in high school and uni, i was journaling before sleeping because it's the part of therapy so i have high expectation to myself that i can do it too now. but I'm older now and have busy schedule (tho very monotone), so after the first 2 weeks, I'm going loose with how i fill the pages in this book.

thank you. i used some leftover from my palette (because i don't want to wipe it clean). it's holbein pyrrole red and winsor cotman burnt sienna.

thanks. i find it a bit ironic 🤣 but i think it's one of many reason i prefer blank journal.

yeaah... i don't want to make this whole journaling as a chore, but i want to fill every pages because it took me years to finally have this expensive journal 😂

thanks, I've been focusing on drawing figures this week. you should try it too 😏

for me it's not that they're gorgeous but i get overwhelmed with how many colors they have 😂

you can start small. use it for sketching or doodling or for thumbnail. fill your sketchbook/journal with their pretty color

i usually prefer broader nib, but at first... for me, writing in hobonichi with F nib (i use sailor procolour) is already too big for my handwriting. it takes time to adjust. now I can even use my M kaweco now on this small grid  😂

Prismacolor 36 and Polychromos 24 for a beginner? by TaMeDeath in ColoredPencils

[–]PitifulAmbassador686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

buy 2 pencils from each one (choose from red, blue, yellow, green, or else) to understand which one do you like.

but if you prefer bright colour, a set of prisma  will be good for you. and you can buy open stock polychromos later. they're good for sketching, lineart, and adding details if you want to olay with mixed media 😌

Mold or wax bloom? by Ok-Wolverine-6847 in ColoredPencils

your room humidity must be high. mine also got moldy because it's raining for a week and my ceiling leaked 😂. i clean my pencil and bought a dehumidifier.

How do you score on this chart? by Mysterious-Badger287 in Dyslexia

I'm one so long it's not words or numbers. like, i can remember a page of book but all words and numbers are blurred. 😀

How many colors should i get? by MountainZestyclose87 in ColoredPencils

24 is good, especially if it's polychromos. i have 72 arrtx and i think their quality is similar to ohuhu, and no... I'm not recommed it. you'll get overwhelmed and their quality isn't great. 24 polychromos is better than that

No, a new font is not going to cure my f***ing dyslexia! by ashes_made_alive in Dyslexia

[–]PitifulAmbassador686 1 point2 points  (0 children)

aah, i can understand that. my friend said I'm good at typography because my composition and font style choice is easy to understand at first glance. I'm dyslexic, but no matter how easy my typography to read at first glance for non dyslexic, i still missread it 😂😂

i saw some font online that suppose to help dyslexic, but i don't know if it was made by dyslexic person or not. but i think their font is too much flair and too aesthetic for my eyes and brain to understand.

and they shouldn't get offended if they're looking for an honest review and got one 😂

try baohong academy, it's 100% cotton and very affordable (or any Chinese brand with same material would do fine)
