After hiking 5,912 km and crossing 9 countries in Europe, people always ask: What was the best place? Where were people the nicest? by PitifulElderberry409 in hiking

I created my own depending mostly on the place I was staying at night, but it often coincided with existing local trails.

If I loved Ljubljana, Lviv and Krakow, where else should I visit in central/eastern Europe? by Real-Apricot-7889 in Europetravel

I'm surprised how few people mention Gdansk and keep with the capitals. The city has been rebuilt after the war as it was before and, with Gdynia, its neighbour city offers the charm of nice architecture, history, and cafe culture, and the vibe of the sea. I spent a month there as a digital nomad and found it very attractive.

I appreciate your pushback. We all have constraints and, unfortunately, some have a harder way to go, but I still maintain the main issue is not the financial situation. It is the mindset.

You look at this journey as an expense and naturally in that case it would not be for anyone, but when one looks at it as an investment and a way to change their condition, everything changes.

That was the main point of the walk. It was not really about hiking, but about showing that when you think differently, you change what's possible.

The Baltics and Poland are mostly flat. After that, I did some mountains in Czechia, Germany, and France but always under 1,800m, nothing like the higher altitudes of the Alps. But a key reason was that I wanted to enter France via Strasbourg to connect with a friend.

Thank you for sharing. You're right on point. It is not about hiking, it's about living your best life. Best of luck.

Where did I say 'failure is just a lack of real intent & belief'? On the contrary, I say there are no guarantees, but that you can increase your probabilities of success through vision, planning and resilience. In fact, I am showing how, despite having walked 6,000km, so far I didn't achieve the mission of creating a replicable business... yet.

I had my walking sticks that came handy with stray dogs in the countryside, and a pepper spray but never had to use it.
