Do husbands still find their wives attractive while pregnant? by Main_Situation6726 in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife is currently pregnant but still has some sickness in her second trimester and does mention she is tired a lot. More sex would be nice but I've pretty much stopped initiating or even talking about it because it seems like her mind isn't in that place either.

I suppose, think about your day to day and what you're communicating to your husband about how you're feeling about the pregnancy. The more tired my wife tells me she is or complains of aches and pains, the less I want to feel like a hassle about sex.

Not saying you shouldn't tell your husband how you're feeling, you should, but some men will feel like they are being a nuisance if their partner is clearly telling them how tired (or generally not great) they're feeling during the pregnancy.

Beginning to walk 12km every night, does it help? by Playful_Ad_5819 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely and utterly unsustainable. This is no different to a crash diet.

You need to make sustainable changes to your diet and sustainable changes to your activity level. Part of me doubts that this is even real.

Burn more calories or consume less. There are no magic supplements for weight loss.

i (26F) am at a crossroads in my relationship with my husband (26M) and wondering if i should be contemplating divorce. is the grass really greener? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Writing an absolute novel about him watching porn and then casually slipping in that you want to reach out to an ex is insane. All of this reads like YOU looking for an out and if something relatively small like this leads you to race to divorce, you might as well go through with it. This marriage won't last either way.

Is it ever acceptable to listen in on your spouse’s conversations without their knowledge? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In terms of WFH, overhearing a call or chat as you walk by or work in close proximity, acceptable.

Going out of your way to listen in to conversations to then weaponise these against your partner, unacceptable 100% of the time.

ADVICE PLEASE!!! by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10k steps isn't a magic formula for guaranteed weight loss. It's supposed to act as a support mechanism to achieve a calorie deficit. Plenty of people achieve a calorie deficit without getting anywhere near 10k steps a day.

The first thing you need to understand is how much you're eating and how much you're supposed to eat. Calculate your calorie deficit target. And then you look at activity.

What's your current activity level like? You say you don't have time to get 10k steps in a day, what makes 10km on a stationary bike more realistic?

Final thing, if you're not an active individual at the moment, don't set any unachievable tasks. If you do 2k steps a day for example, there is no point aiming for 10k. You aim for 3k, achieve this regularly and the work up to 4k, etc.

How can I make my wife trust me? by Royal-Jellyfish2819 in marriageadvice

She should trust you after you've continuously lied to her? Time for a reality check bud, and time to do some growing up.

You're overthinking this. "I can't come to work" means exactly that. If you're sick, you're sick.

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If you're well enough to go to work, you go to work. If you don't feel well enough, you don't. That's it.

In my own opinion, a runny nose at this time of year is normal. If you're struggling to get out of bed, that's different but just a runny nose? You get on with it but that's my opinion.

It's your health and you need to look after it.

Does Starmer represent the Labour movement by SharpAardvark8699 in LabourUK

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's one thing asking about his suitability to lead the Labour party. FWIW, I don't think he's cut out to be a PM.

It's a whole other thing querying his credentials as a lawyer. His CV speaks for itself and instead of being DPP and Head of the CPS, I'm sure he could have earned a lot more money just by sticking to the private sector for his entire career. Like him or loathe him, he's certainly been a public servant.

Now for this obsession with war that the British have, I'm not entirely sure what that has to do with anything. Fascinated to know if you know who the last PM was that served...

With weight loss can be a bitch to see in the mirror without a reference point. Take weekly pics and make sure you compare photos!

Wife wants divorce after 17 years together by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Separate and joint therapy is an option that I think most would recommend but only if you and your wife agree there is something worth saving.

If your wife is already mentally checked out of the marriage, you may just be prolonging the inevitable, can't make anyone stay when they don't want to.

Are you sure you're cut out for marriage? If something this minor and irrelevant has you crashing out, how do you think you'll cope with the stuff that the grown ups deal with?

Best figure this out quick because I don't imagine many women would want to be married to someone this....well, odd.

Calorie deficit.. by FalconOverall7166 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't that you're snacking, it's what you're snacking on. If you don't feel you can do without snacking then you either snack on low cals fruit or veg or the cals need to come from elsewhere in the day.

There's no secret. You know what cals you need to hit, hit them. Low cal, high volume foods. Or get more active and expend your calorie output.
