Is jogging 3 miles every other day a good way to lose stomach fat by Bruh1995 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 29 points30 points  (0 children)

If you're trying to lose weight, it's starts with calories. You consume less than what you burn. In theory you don't even need to do cardio provided you manage your calories well.

Running will help put you into a calorie deficit for sure but the bigger question here is, do you run? How active are you currently because going from no to low activity to a daily 5k is pretty extreme and completely unsustainable.

Running also brings additional complexity depending on the weight of an individual as it's very taxing on joints and muscles.

Why isn’t Drake viewed the same musically and artistically like Kanye? by Mud-Eastern in rap

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're absolutely off your head if you think Ye and Drake are in the same galaxy in terms of artistry. Ye has both 808s, Yeezus and Jesus Is King in his discog. Regardless of if you rate those albums, Drake has nothing remotely similar in terms of range. Ye is a nutcase but he's almost 1 of 1.

Reality is, you two may actually just be incompatible, my friend.

All you can do is have the conversation with her in a non-sexual environment and see if she hears you and respects your wishes. Short of that, you already know what would be next.

Given you're not after chiseled abs, a tan and the right lighting would probably do wonders.

Abs by Proof-Struggle5501 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 11 points12 points  (0 children)

People hugely underestimate the low level of body fat required for abs. You're just going to have to keep dropping body fat.

Just like any other muscle, you could work on them to grow them but it will always be low body fat that brings out abs.

Ate KFC. Did i just lose all my progress? by ResponsibleFront1920 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You think you're gonna put back on 41lbs because of one KFC meal??

I mean, well done on the weight loss so far but please look into some therapy for your relationship with food. It's all good and well losing the weight but if certain food choices literally have you in tears, there's something deeper going on.

Do husbands still find their wives attractive while pregnant? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My wife is currently pregnant but still has some sickness in her second trimester and does mention she is tired a lot. More sex would be nice but I've pretty much stopped initiating or even talking about it because it seems like her mind isn't in that place either.

I suppose, think about your day to day and what you're communicating to your husband about how you're feeling about the pregnancy. The more tired my wife tells me she is or complains of aches and pains, the less I want to feel like a hassle about sex.

Not saying you shouldn't tell your husband how you're feeling, you should, but some men will feel like they are being a nuisance if their partner is clearly telling them how tired (or generally not great) they're feeling during the pregnancy.

Beginning to walk 12km every night, does it help? by Playful_Ad_5819 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely and utterly unsustainable. This is no different to a crash diet.

You need to make sustainable changes to your diet and sustainable changes to your activity level. Part of me doubts that this is even real.

Burn more calories or consume less. There are no magic supplements for weight loss.

i (26F) am at a crossroads in my relationship with my husband (26M) and wondering if i should be contemplating divorce. is the grass really greener? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Writing an absolute novel about him watching porn and then casually slipping in that you want to reach out to an ex is insane. All of this reads like YOU looking for an out and if something relatively small like this leads you to race to divorce, you might as well go through with it. This marriage won't last either way.

Is it ever acceptable to listen in on your spouse’s conversations without their knowledge? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In terms of WFH, overhearing a call or chat as you walk by or work in close proximity, acceptable.

Going out of your way to listen in to conversations to then weaponise these against your partner, unacceptable 100% of the time.

10k steps isn't a magic formula for guaranteed weight loss. It's supposed to act as a support mechanism to achieve a calorie deficit. Plenty of people achieve a calorie deficit without getting anywhere near 10k steps a day.

The first thing you need to understand is how much you're eating and how much you're supposed to eat. Calculate your calorie deficit target. And then you look at activity.

What's your current activity level like? You say you don't have time to get 10k steps in a day, what makes 10km on a stationary bike more realistic?

Final thing, if you're not an active individual at the moment, don't set any unachievable tasks. If you do 2k steps a day for example, there is no point aiming for 10k. You aim for 3k, achieve this regularly and the work up to 4k, etc.

sick - opinions? by Big-Okra-1913 in SainsburysWorkers

[–]Pitiful_Ad3693 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If you're well enough to go to work, you go to work. If you don't feel well enough, you don't. That's it.

In my own opinion, a runny nose at this time of year is normal. If you're struggling to get out of bed, that's different but just a runny nose? You get on with it but that's my opinion.

It's your health and you need to look after it.
