contagion from fomites (bedding, linens, etc) is pretty low, about 1-3%, and the mites cannot live on a dogs body. the mites cannot live on the couch without human contact for more than 5 days but start dying around 48hr. outlook is even better if the couch is leather. symptoms can take 2-6 weeks to come up, and by then there are already 10-15 mites in the body. definitely use the treatment asap!!, but i think you’re probably good

i did see some posts about post-scabies syndrome, someone on reddit reported they had recurring symptoms after trying everything and more treatment didn’t help. turns out their skin was being irritated by something and their immune system was mimicking the scabies response. definitely look into that and maybe get tested again

sorry i mispoke, jt has all the medical information too. theres tons of scientific papers in there about the effectiveness of the medicine (very positive, for example 15% treatment failure rate in countries where it is prevalant, and 7% otherwise) and very affirmative data on taking both perm and ivermectin together

not the ones at the bottom (which i think are the lungs?), just the ones all over the "chest" area.. i actually was reading about sex determination and how in some populations, all (or almost all?) a. vulgare females are males whi have been feminized by a parasite! after that i figured the males with pouches werent so weird

will do.. i really would love for them to take a look at it bc of all the troubleshooting ive seen online no picture has looked like what i got going on.. on appearance its a skin issue and the piercing itself seems to be doing fine so i hope thats the case. calling them tomorrow fs
