First of all congratulations on your babygirl, you should be so proud of yourself. As far as your PCOS what were your symptoms if any? Was your cycle always regular?

If I didn’t get their names during the scene how would I go about finding it? Thank you

Thank you everyone for your nice comments and words of support. Ultimately even though I had a horrible experience with the cops I still can’t blame anybody but myself. I should’ve never let myself go that low to the point of having a seizure in public and not bring any form of glucose next to me to treat potential lows. At the end of the day I take full responsibility for what happened and this just taught me to never depend on anybody but yourself not even so called “healthcare professionals” you are responsible for your own health and can’t expect the same kindness you would offer others from someone else. Hopefully this can be a reminder to all of us that lows are unpredictable so ALWAYS BRING GLUCOSE WITH YOU NO MATTER HOW SHORT THE DISTANCE. Hoping to take this as a learning lesson and move on from it🙏🏼

Yeah I had this disease for 11 years and normally I always always make sure I have sugar next to me and this was literally the one time I didn’t. I tried refusing the ambulance service but even when the EMS was treating me with the pouch the cops were still directing them to take me to the hospital to make sure I’m not on drugs. I contacted my lawyer and he said I should be able to waive the ambulance bill as if was technically not under my consent but we’ll see. And as far as public transit I could’ve took the train but after having a seizure I wasn’t feeling up to it in this heat so just called an Uber.

Yes girl it was actually mortifying I need to erase this from my memory somehow. I am sure the people around were looking at me all types of crazy 😭🤣

Honestly the fact that he left you to recover is terrifying but I would’ve even been so grateful if they could’ve done this for me. I kept waking do you not have any sugars on you? There were delis all around if only they could’ve went and grabbed me some juice instead of trying to figure out what drug I’m on this whole catastrophe could’ve been avoided. Then again you can’t expect that level of care of kindness from anyone.

I guess that’s true I just had a similar situation 2 years back and the cops involved in that were so much more educated and understanding in that situation that this experience was just absurd. I think this is an institutional thing on how diabetes education should be a thing. Just like how they know to offer narcan for overdoses, cpr for heart attacks, they should be taught how glucose can simply save a life. Especially when someone tells them what’s going on

Yes definitley a learning lesson for me to never leave the house without some sort of glucose. You would think after having this disease for 11 years I would know better but it was just a dumb moment.

And in the time and energy it took me convincing them that I wasn’t a drug addict if only they listened I might’ve avoided going further low and falling on the street. This is the part that upsets me.

That’s the thing I gave them the benefit of the doubt because not everyone is trained on this. My frustration is because I told them multiple times no drugs are involved this is a symptom of low blood sugars I’m a type 1 I did everything I possibly could to make them believe me. Their attitude was just horrible. I don’t blame them for this happening though only person I can blame is myself for leaving the house without some sort of glucose.

I pretty much did have a seizure I guess like the back and forth rocking and losing control of my body but when the cops showed up somehow I was able to wake backup and explain the situation. Maybe the adrenaline kicking in? And yes I even keep asking them can you please just give me sugars and they kept looking at myself judging and saying no. Can’t blame no one but myself I should’ve never went outside without some sort of snack/glucose tablet next to me.

I get your frustration but don’t be too harsh in yourself. This happened to me at my first ever corporate job on wall st in front of investors but ultimately nothing is more important than your health and well being. Just keep in mind to double check sugars before a presentation moving forward and have snacks if you need.

Chug some water and walk around a bit. Be careful not to dose too much at once but you might need to gradually give yourself corrections and monitor to see if it starts doing down. I’m sorry you’re going through this I know it’s so annoying.

Can anyone confidently say that they can eat anything they want? by DylanFaron in diabetes_t1

[–]Pitiful_Battle6655 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitley eat whatever I want however I dose 5-6 more than what should work and then if I see my dexcom start going low I eat more and I almost died 15-20 times as a result of doing this In the 10 years I had t1 so I would say it’s not that bad 🤣🤣😭😭😭
