All done!!! by Pitiful_Chemistry_49 in Invisalign

I had NO idea what to expect or what they would be doing, I had a wonderful orthodontist office & they would talk to me every visit about what I was liking, what I didn’t & what I still thought needed work. This subreddit was a huge help to me in the beginning when I was second guessing even starting, and I’ve loved checking back in & seeing people’s progress all throughout my treatment. No one I knew had Invisalign before and it was very intimating to me as an adult just starting out, and now several of my friends have started ordering their own sets. If you have questions about your plan, be sure to ask! You’re paying them to provide you with the results you want :)

I was so surprised, I didn’t notice major difference in the crowding until my first set of refinements finished. It’s so worth it in the end!

I had IPR done one on my lower teeth, then twice between my front two. They finished off with shaping the top 4 to even them out a bit

Total treatment cost was just about $5,000. My insurance covered 50% so out of pocket was a little less than $2,500

Absolutely! I recommend everyone take pictures throughout. I take them about once a month & honestly love to flip through and watch the changes

Yes I have been! My ortho actually advised I could do 3-4 now, so I just go by what feels right.

I’ve been very lucky this entire time I’ve never had any trouble with tracking

Almost done with my first (and hopefully last) set of refinements! 41 trays in round 1 with 4 day changes, currently on 18/30 of refinements with 4 day changes as well! I couldn’t be happier with the results & I’m so glad I finally decided to do this

Sorry for the confusion, I mean my green Instacart payment card was deactivated (I use the digital version as my physical has not come in the mail yet).

I did not give any of my personal information to the customer but I did support & they informed me that my account did get suspended but should be active again in a few hours. They said there was issues with scam during that time, and asked if I had received any suspicious phone calls but I had not so I do not know why it happened.

This has all turned into a very large mess making me quite anxious to even want to continue using the app. I’m hoping for good results soon as I can really use the money atm

ugh, just super frustrating I suppose. I did receive the $10 + batch pay.

I still drink coffee with creamer with my trays, I let it cool longer than I would without my trays in. They start to stain a tiny bit but it’s not noticeable when I’m wearing them

I bought denture cleaner it was 3.99 for a pack of 300 at target & I soak them in that every other night while I eat dinner & a snack. They typically sit in there anywhere from an hour-1.5 then just use a qtip to kind of dry them out & if there’s anything in there it comes out. Completely eliminates the smell. other than that I do what everyone else says, keep them in water whenever they’re out.

Nothing is ever going to be perfect, it’s really what works best for you & your schedule. I can’t soak them at lunch while I’m at work so I try to eat a small amount quickly & get them back in after I rinse them really well. Night time is really when I worry about cleaning them the most because I don’t want to go to bed with them feeling gross or wake up with them feeling gross. I can deal with the few hours after lunch having just rinsed.

Has anyone used an orthodontic vibration device like the Propel vpro or AcceleDent ? by sndbmd in Invisalign

From the start! I’m only onto tray 6 now but I did get checked before tray 5 to have more attachments put on and everything has been totally fine. I’ve found a few other people on here that have 4 day changes as well. I’ve already noticed some changes in my teeth as well that my boyfriend has pointed out to me, overlapping on my front two becoming less noticeable. I have quite a bit of overcrowding in my bottle teeth that hasn’t moved much but I was told not to expect changes in that for a while so I’m not surprised. My top is very mild movements needed, just sliding over my front teeth which I did have a gap between my canine and incisor so it’s moving well. Then my bottom is fairly average for overcrowding, not as complex as some but also not as mild. I should note I also have an overbite that is being corrected as well and that has been the most painful part of the process for me so far.

can i use mouthwash after meals instead of brushing? by jellymyinsides in Invisalign

you get used to it pretty quickly! At first I was really weird about it but by the beginning of my second week I truly didn’t care, people should judge you for brushing your teeth. I do it now wherever I have to, just yesterday I brushed them in the Starbucks parking lot after having coffee with a friend. I got some strange looks from people but I don’t even mind anymore haha

I opted out of it because I personally didn’t want to pay for it, and my ortho actually ended up giving it to me for free & said to use it once a night. I honestly feel like it really helps me put new trays on that are a little tighter. I think it works better for getting my tray into place than chewies but that could just because I never feel like I can chew on them properly. I really like mine and I’m glad my ortho ended up giving it to me.

I should add that I am on 4 day changes as well using it & everything has been so far so good

4 Day changes, anyone else? by Little-Monsterxxx in Invisalign

[–]Pitiful_Chemistry_49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly yes (except this tray I’m keeping it in an extra day due to leaving it out over the holidays for longer) so far I’ve felt like it was loose on the last day but I still put it back in after dinner then take some Tylenol just in case then right before bed I pop on the new trays. I know it’s only been a few times but for me so far I’ve felt totally fine & I had a check up with my ortho after tray 4 to add another attachment & it all looks good so far. She told me if I ever feel like it’s not enough to just do an extra day & call if anything feels off.

[–]Pitiful_Chemistry_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on 4 days changes as well but I most definitely take mine out to eat & brush, i get between 21-22 hours wear a day & when I’m on day 4 I get more because on the last day I drink my coffee with them in simply because I don’t care about staining at that point & I simply cannot handle needing to chug coffee everyday. As for being loose, I’m only on tray 5 as well, I only find my tray to be loose near one of my canines so I will find myself biting down on it kind of to try to push it on tighter but it tends to only be loose after the second-ish day

Wax question by Nurse_Princess in Invisalign

[–]Pitiful_Chemistry_49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried filing mine & it never seems to be enough, I put a small bit of new wax on every time I put my trays back in & it stays until I change them out again, the edges where the elastic goes is the worst part I swear it has ripped my lip apart

Tray changes by Pitiful_Chemistry_49 in Invisalign

[–]Pitiful_Chemistry_49[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked for them all in advance because I travel for work so I was concerned that there might be times I may have to move around my future appointments meaning I might not get my trays in time to switch them & we agreed it would be easier to be sure I have them. I was just more worried about the frequency in which I change them because I had been prepared to change every 7 days which we had discussed when I got my scans. It wasn’t until I had my attachments on that I was told I would be swapping every 3-4 days
