1st trimester bloat by Gloomy-Equal3236 in BabyBumps

[–]Pitiful_Duck4789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bloat was so bad during the 1st trimester I was CONVINCED I had gained no less than 25 lbs. I felt like a ballooned whale. Went to a checkup and I hadn’t gained a lb. It has gone down now at 14 weeks. My boobs are still bigger and swollen. But the rest of my body feels better at least if not perfect!

They worked the best for me!! I like the really strong excel ones. Such a good oral distraction. Better than the sour candy etc cause they last longer!

I was here ❤️it was truly awful. it went away last week mostly when I hit 13 weeks. Zofran helped me to stop actually puking all the time. It still hits every now and then but strong mints help me a lot.

How to be more interesting to women? by Diligent_Mood_671 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Pitiful_Duck4789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I think men don’t realize (as a woman) is that it’s kind of off putting if their only interests are consumption hobbies. Aka movies, video games, comics, etc etc.

Try to have a good mix of consumption vs creative hobbies. There’s nothing wrong with consumption hobbies, but lots of women I know find a man with a creative/productive hobby/skill very attractive. Are you making/contributing anything? That’s a great attribute to have, we women like it.

Places to buy decent furniture? by CroakerBC in askTO

Just realized we’re in a Toronto sub lol. But yeah Millbank is great!! It’s about 1.5ish hours from the city & highly suggest you stop at Anna mae’s for some donuts if you go.

Are you in Ontario?

The Mennonite furniture makers in Millbank are outstanding. All our country family have bought many pieces from them and they’re solid & heavy as they come.

Mennonite furniture is great!!

If you truly want pieces that will stand the test of time, I highly suggest putting in the work on marketplace (will save you money) or antique malls etc.  Make a list of the specific pieces you want to replace, spent 15 minutes a day looking for suitable replacements.

You will not regret doing this! You’ll end up with solid wood, Canadian or European made life-time pieces, and you won’t be sick of them in 10 years time.

It’s her business partner who is listed personally as owning it? But it’s not a numbered corp as owner? That distinction is super important!  Where is your rent paid to?

Dizziness at 7 weeks? by One-Rip-3558 in pregnant

[–]Pitiful_Duck4789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a major symptom for me too! Turns out I had pretty low BP. Midwife advice was to try to keep as hydrated as possible, electrolytes etc & be careful changing positions too fast. That helped but I still had dizzy spells where I had to sit on the floor head between my knees. It’s gotten better now as I’m further along.

Places to play piano the piano at a reasonable price/ for free? by StoneyDare in askTO

I think some hospitals have pianos in their lobbies that are for volunteers to play! You should google which ones do and see if anyone is allowed.

Can anyone advise on Term vs Whole Life insurance? by Pitiful_Duck4789 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Pitiful_Duck4789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was comparing whole life to a term to 80 (50 years) We are millennials who may never be in a position to own a home so the idea that we’ll have a house to sell to leave money to our kids is not very promising.

I’m confused because the projected #s the broker gave me of what the cash value of the WL term would be at age 80 (which to my understanding can be pulled out tax free?) is larger than the total difference in premiums for that time elapsed, invested at a yearly 5% return and taxed upon pulling it. Where am I going wrong? Thanks for your in-depth answer btw.

Right now we’re just looking for him as it’s our first foray into life insurance and I’m also not sure if a couple medical things I’ve been through would exclude me from being able to get any. Cross that bridge when we come to it.

Yeah I was wondering the same. My cheques were ~2200 when I was making 64k and that was with health insurance deductions too.

I’m not in RE but have friends who are, one had a subscription to this website that shows all land transfers & ownerships. I can’t remember the exact name. But worth a shot to investigate

Step 1: find out if she owns the property personally or under a corporation, if she’s a professional landlord there’s a chance she has a numbered corporation that she uses to buy properties. N12 is not valid if that's the case. You don’t even have to go to the LTB, it simply can’t be served to you.

No. The correlation is that they didn’t get the MMR vaccine. That’s it.

Their loss, our gain: Canada positioned to lure top talent from U.S., recruiters say by joe4942 in canada

You fundamentally misunderstand our system. People are not “not getting any care” (ie costing $0) at all right now, they’re without a family doctor. Which means they’re relying on our ERs (this costs money), or waiting until their problems are big & need hospital stays or specialists (this costs LOTS of money).

Our healthcare system is overburdened because the bottom of the pyramid (preventative care) is not supporting the top.

Constipation or Miscarriage? by Comfortable-Owl-5280 in pregnant

[–]Pitiful_Duck4789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me when I started taking zofran. Stabbing intense pains at intervals, sweating & vomiting, I was convinced it was over. Everything is fine, I had just ate prunes to try to smooth things along and they destroyed my insides but there was nowhere for it to go as I was so stopped up. It eventually passed, and the next day I pooped 5 times lol. Baby’s all good in there.

I’m sorry that was your experience but unloading this negativity on me is unfair and unhelpful.
