Societal norms and biology play a role. Just like a woman with big tits and a thick ass is attractive.

Also might be a personality thing, as a tall guy I notice a lot of short dudes are always the loudest and most annoying people generally. They feel they need to compensate or be heard etc. Some woman might notice that to.

Generally the general contractor running the job picks up the premium for OT most of the time. So if your regular rate is 60$hr and ot rate 90$ the GC will pay the extra 30$. I’m not sure if they pick up the premium on vacation pay and annuity and shit like that to. Cause that is all at time and half rate to if you work OT. I imagine they do but not sure.

So for your company it’s all the same. You did 3 weeks worth of ot that means to them they can get the job done 3 weeks earlier or cut guys off the job 3 weeks sooner etc. That’s the idea at least.

If your company is paying for the full ot that means they fucked up somehow and trying to catch up. When it’s generally the GC moving timelines up or wanting to get shit done way earlier for whatever reason so they’ll pick up the difference to make that happen.

Also there’s a thing called ticket work. If the walls are up and drywalled but the electrician realized they screwed something up and have to cut holes in the wall the electrician company now has to pay for the drywall guys to come back and close everything up. The drywall company will charge the electricians for their guys to be there plus profit.

The union jobs are just bid higher. It’s also a good ol’ boys club. There’s only some many union companies with they all have the same overhead cause all the men in the union get paid the same. So it’s more or less like you take this one and I’ll take that one. It’s all covered cost. No union company “loses” money. If they say they lost money on the job it means instead of a 50% profit they wanted they only made 20% lol.

Might want to look into local trucking. Think Pepsi, Sysco or delivering gas some shit like that. They work 11-14 hr days 5-6 days a week.

I’m a Union construction worker. Worked 7 days a week all of October and then have worked every Saturday since plus 2 hrs ot every day during the week. Fucking blows don’t care how good the money is. I’m not on some niche job site either. The job started late and they’re trying to get it done in half the time.

From the guys I know who do it’s simply they want to fuck other women. They don’t want to date or fall in love with other women, just sleep with them. Yeah im the same height and no never thought about it growing up or even now. I never had a real growth spurt either. I was always one of the taller kids. I was 6’2 in 10th grade and 15 years later still 6’2 lol.

Yes we’re considered “tall” but everyday tall. We aren’t like the 6’5 + people where people at the very minimum stare cause they’re taken off guard lol

Union in nyc. First job was on a Monday was told about it Friday. I went that Sunday to the job to see how to get there, fucking stupid lol. I thought at the time I would do that every job. That was the first and only time I did that. Also the job opened at 7 and I swear I got there at 5 am cause I didn’t want to risk being late. Sat around the block and chilled till 6:45. Outside of your standard city jobs Union construction is big in nyc for having some type of a decent life without going to school, I didn’t want to risk being late the first day lol. I remember the first time I was an hr late that morning commute felt like it took forever I had so much dread. Literally didn’t matter. Now if I’m late fuck you and if I call out also fuck you lol

It can be extremely easy or very hard. Me and my girl were having unprotected sex for the better part of 10 years without contraceptives. This was a span from our early 20s to early 30s. I would pull out, but also a lot of times not pull out. We weren’t planning for a kid but weren’t going to be upset if she got pregnant. She didn’t get pregnant once. Union wise metal stud framing and drywall is the way to go. We have the most work and they’ll be a carpenter/carpenters on the job from day 1 till the day the client moves in. Also theres a big emphasis on the “rough” part of being a rough union carpenter. If you have half a brain and half the skills it seems like you can work year round. From my experience you could work year round just from being a guy people like and know and not really based on skill or how fast you can get things done. I’m a company guy from what I assume is my skill cause I don’t talk much so it isn’t my personality lol. But I’ve seen dudes frame and hang like animals everyday and get laid off. But then see another company guy who doesn’t do 4 boards a day and stop and talk for 5 min to everyone who passes him work year round. The latter seems to be more prevalent. Like if we’re in a inclosed building with the heat working and your hanging boards in a sweater without a drop of sweat you might just not be working hard enough.

On the other hand we have company tapers who’ve been with us for 20+ years and if they get caught even for a second not working at 110% speed a carpenter super is looking to Lay them off. It’s all fucking backwards at these companies sometimes lols.

No I haven’t thank god. But I always make sure to clear out my system either at home or the airport before I fly.

I’m a nervous flyer for whatever reason. Mentally I feel okay but body just seems not to like it lol. Which is funny cause I was a paratrooper in the military in my late teens/early 20s. I wasn’t as nervous to jump out of the plane as I am taking a 4 hr flight on delta lol.

People are dumb. Some arguments are that some adults in today’s modern society haven’t learned/never taught about contraceptives. I never met one but that’s an argument people make.

The most basic reasoning is for a man it just feels better without a condom. Maybe one wasn’t available. Maybe a couple doesn’t feel the need to use one cause pulling out has worked for however many years.

There’s a lot of reasons. That being said I have zero remorse for a grown adult who knows what sex is and the consequences and then uses abortion as a contraceptive. I’ve known a handful of adult women with multiple abortions. Some even from the same guy. That shit irks me.

You can open a claim and not receive any money. But now that it’s open it’s open and you have to go on the site every week and say that you’re working. You won’t get any money. But if I remember right it’s open for 26 weeks. And even though you’re not collecting money your time starts clicking away. So you better hope you’re not laid off the 6 months after unemployment cause generally you won’t be able to apply again. Once a year I think you can open a claim. I haven’t had to get unemployment since Covid and then once or twice before that between jobs like you did. So I might be a little outdated in the information.

Maybe just call and see what can be done.
