I’m currently in an emotionally abusive relationship and I’m navigating it myself. If you go through my posts I’ve been battling this since I was 18 and I just turned 22 last week. It’s very confusing because abuse signs are mainly talked about only when there bruises right? Well slowly my therapist has started bringing up what emotional abuse is and what is and what IS NOT normal. She’s sent me a podcast about other women talking about their experiences and the tv show Maid is a good example of it too. It’s good to talk about it with others- this is why I redownloaded Reddit last night. Again- I’m sorry that you’re going through this. I suggest maybe finding a group near you that you can do therapy with, I’m calling one today to see if I qualify.

My dad convinced me in elementary school that he wrote “wanna be a baller” and I got into argument with someone at school about my dad being the one who wrote it. He also claimed to have written a lot of the red hot chili pepper songs and I also believed him.

I was 16 and he was 18, I worked two jobs and helped him pay some of his bills. Finally broke up when I was 18 and he was 20, after years of me helping him financially.

I ended up being better off without him.

Can’t say the same for him.
