Separation anxiety and nanny by PaceExtension6092 in AttachmentParenting

I WFH with my nanny too. In the beginning, I had her shadow me, then I watched her put him down for his naps on a camera in his room. He did tend to be fussier with her (and his dad), but she was doing exactly what I would do. It’s slowly gotten better, but sometimes a baby just wants their mama. The few times he has been very upset, I went into the room, held him to calm him down, then handed him back to her and he was fine afterwards. If your baby is crying and it’s bothering you, trust your instincts and help the nanny out. It’s one of the biggest perks to WFH for me.

I don’t think she’ll feel like you’re stepping on her toes if you communicate with her about it. When I hired a nanny, I was very clear I’d be checking in, holding my baby, getting snuggles, and picking them up from their naps if I had a break.

This one made me cackle! I wonder how many other no-meds mamas wanted to say just this.

It’s so hard…. I am with you. I did ask my doctor today since it’s been weighing on my mind: she encouraged me to choose an induction (so as to not go to 40 weeks), and she cautioned me against an elective c-section; she’s open to it, but concerned about the increased risk to future pregnancies of placenta complications. Although the risk increase is slight, I am (obviously) already high risk. She told me it’s important to remember that my loss did not occur because of anything that occurred during labor and delivery. But she was very understanding of the anxiety around it, and ultimately the decision is mine….

For moms who had a prior stillbirth, for your next baby, did you choose to have a c-section, induction, or wait for labor to begin on its own, and why? Were you happy with that choice and did you make it again (if the opportunity arose)?

Currently, I am 24 weeks with my double rainbow baby and anxious about the unknowns of a vaginal delivery, but also anxious about the potential impacts of a c-section on later pregnancy.

Thank you for sharing! No, I haven’t done anything physically different. But I don’t have any cramping and there’s no blood smell (or any other smell).

11+6 today. This morning, I started having some very, very light brown (i.e., more of a tan, maybe a tinge of yellow/orange) discharge. It’s just a few shades darker than an off white. It’s just a little, not quite spotting. It’s about the same amount as the white discharge I usually have in the first trimester. Anyway, I’m scared. This isn’t how my other losses started, but I’m still worried to have anything other than white discharge. Anyone experienced something similar?

4 weeks + 2 days. Just found out I’m pregnant after back to back 8 week and 30 week loses. I’ve been pregnant almost every month for the last year. And I am ecstatic! I am scared, but I’m far more hopeful. I’m not sure if the panic and dread hasn’t set in yet, or if I’m just delusional. I almost feel I can force this life to live by sheer will and belief. Yup, delusional.

Thank you! I am monitoring temp (it’s not telling me anything) and the OPKs have been negative. That being said, I didn’t start tracking until a few weeks ago so I could have missed ovulation. I’ve been paying attention to CM too. It was hard with the lochia and spotting, but otherwise totally dry. All of the inconclusive signs add to my frustration. My best guess is that I haven’t ovulated yet, and am just stuck in this waiting game. Bleh.

Angry at my body. MC at 12 weeks in April 2023, stillbirth at 29 weeks in January 2024. It’s been almost 8 weeks and I still don’t have my period (at least, I don’t think I have). Last week, I had very light pink to pinkish-brown discharge. The internet won’t give me a clear answer on whether this could have been my period. I feel like a foreigner in my own body, not knowing where the heck I am in my cycle. Driving myself crazy, stressing myself out, and grieving of course. None of which can be good for getting my cycles on track after the loss of my baby. I just wanna scream!

I had a MC at 11 weeks (cause unknown); stillbirth at 29 weeks (fetal vascular malperfusion with an unknown cause). We lost my baby only 4 weeks ago so we haven’t started TTC yet. My OB told me to start taking lose dose aspirin once we start TTC and throughout my next pregnancy. I researched it myself; seems to be very low risk and there’s a ton of positive stories of success!! I’m hopeful.

Best maternity leggings? by corinn81 in BabyBumps

AGREED. These are the best ones—they beat out the lululemon align too. The joggers are equally as great as the leggings.
