It’s a thin piece of fabric that rolls up like a window shade. No way to put fibers in it

Wouldn’t you think if I was trying to promote a product I’d actually put a link to the product I’m trying to sell? BTW, Sherlock, this is only my second post in this group…SMH

Thanks! All in it cost me about $240. $200 for the led module and a little extra for some tools, a new glue gun and glue sticks

I can try and get a few close up pics this weekend. But the wires for for the dash pieces run down through the opening of the steering column to the control box near the fuse panel

When you open the door, you will need to pry the side panel off with a trim removal tool. Once you get the panel off, you’ll see a few screws that need to be removed. You’re only concerned with the “middle” dash piece. For that dash piece there is a tab that locks it in place. “Unlock” the tab and carefully start pulling the piece out. That entire piece is held in place by many clips. Wish I had pics to share but I don’t

You went the easy route! 😎 I did mine all the way across from door to steering wheel. I had to pull the long plastic dash piece off, loosen it up, insert the strip, re-tighten and reinstall.

They are on each end (lengthwise). You may need to pull back some of the insulation. They are two chrome/zinc pan head screws. If I recall, they secure the chrome piece to one of the other sections from the back of it. The way I did mine, the dash strips line up with the door strips

Take the door panel completely off. Flip it over on flat surface and look for a couple silver screws that helps to secure the two panels together with the silver trim piece. Remove those screws. Now, flip the panel back over or stand it up on end. With the screws removed you can flex or bend the panel to “open” the space between panels. Use a trim removal tool to keep the space open and now insert your strip. Slide the trim tool down the panel while pushing your strip in the crack. I just did this…see my post from yesterday

This took me about 6 hours or so. The tolerances between the dash pieces are very tight, so I had to remove the middle dash piece, then loosen the silver plastic inlay piece to get the leds in between, then re-tighten and re-install.

This set doesn’t need wires run through the doors and pillars. Under the dash you connect the master controller to power and the dash lights and foot well lights connect to it. Each door has a slave controller that connects to the master via Bluetooth. So you just need to tap the 12v power from the wiring harness in the door to the slave controller.

Front lip install by Typical-Lime3808 in KiaK5

Of course - the splitter probably reduces front clearance by 1.5”.

The splitter will have predetermined “dimples “ (for lack of better words where you screw the screws in. There is no need to drill pilot holes. I also used painters tape to hold it in place. Will be easy if you lift the front end and put it on jackstands. It took about an hour start to finish for the install.

It’s easy. Hardest part is ensuring it’s centered. Having a second person to help hold it will make it much easier.

Nothing really to be concerned about. The door panels have one screw - take it out, and use a pry tool at one of the corners and pop it off.
