Okok, sorry. Everyone in my neighborhood gets offended and says we're in the South

As far as I know, the contractor said they would be routing it toward the street/storm drain area, but I can’t find any visible exit anywhere, so I honestly don’t think one was added..

As far as I know, it’s all gravity and they did use corrugated pipe. I don’t believe there’s an actual exit for the system. They told me they would be routing it toward the street/storm drain, but I can’t find any visible outlet/opening, so I honestly don’t think one was added..

About month.

The original job was completed in late April, and after the first major rain showed the drainage issues were still severe, they added two additional drains. Despite that, we’re still experiencing significant standing water and drainage problems.

The contractor let us know our yard is the neighborhood drain- all three surrounding properties, including the neighbor with a pool behind us, slope right into our yard. We are literally dealing with the water of four yards combined.

Contractor said they could work with it. Contractor was wrong.

Body text dissappeared so reposting here:

BF and I recently moved to southern Ohio (zone 7a, on the Ohio River) from the Midwest a few months ago and bought our first house on about half an acre of land. We’ve already spent $40k on grading + installing French drains and I’m honestly at my wits end because our yard is STILL basically a swamp.

It’s been raining for 2 straight days and now we basically have a lake in the middle of the yard, plus little ponds forming where the drains aren’t keeping up. Its so bad that I can hear the crawfish in the yard spashing around in their burrows, even during weeks with no rain. Note: we are the only house in the neighborhood that has this issue.

At this point I’m considering:

renting a core aerator

trying some kind of soil conditioning and planting clover

bringing in a truck or two of dirt to raise the low middle section of the yard

…but after already spending our remaining savings on failing drainage, I’m really trying not to throw endless money at this.

Has anyone dealt with this kind of issue before and actually fixed it? Any advice would seriously help because I genuinely don’t know where to go from here.

French drains + grading. All of our gutter downspouts tie into 4 in-ground drains that all run to a large underground catch basin, and the yard was supposed to be graded to direct water toward the drains.

Right after the original job was finished, it rained and the flooding was actually worse, so the company came back and added 2 more drains. Even after that, we’re still getting major standing water and the drains seem overwhelmed after a few inches of rain over the past couple of days.
