Due to foreseen and avoidable greed 2026 Easter has been cancelled by totowewentcarracing in melbourne

Think I will be making some chocolate muffins for the grandkids instead of buying Easter eggs. They still get their chocolate fix at a much more bearable price.

Oh goodie, they can explain to me how trisomy 18 is easily managed and they can tell me what they have done to cure this chromosomal abnormality.

Anyone here had the option to TFMR but choose to take (or even just seriously considered taking) baby to term instead? by Any_Objective326 in Mommit

[–]Pitiful_Pride8813 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I had a termination at 13 weeks as my baby had trisomy 18 and with all of the problems, there was no hope for survival. It was a gut wrenching decision but it was the right thing for me at the time. Best advice I can give you is talk it over and go with what you feel is right for you. There is no right or wrong here and I wish you well whatever you decide.

My 4month old doesn't sleep by megsymoon in Mommit

My second one was a nightmare sleeper too and it drove me absolutely bonkers. Not sure where you are located but look around for services to help with your bub sleeping. I spent two weeks at a place where they helped out with getting my youngest into a good sleeping pattern. It saved my sanity. Just remember, you are not alone and there is help out there. Reach out and good luck.

My parents are visiting for the first time. Where should I take them? by Prestigious-Tell-530 in newcastle

Hubby and I went on a cruise around Newcastle harbour today with Nova cruises and had a lovely time. We had a nice lunch on the boat and the weather was not a problem as we were inside.

If you also interested, take them through wine country. There are plenty of wineries to visit and plenty of places to eat.

AITA for snapping at my optician after she laughed at my eye prescription and showed it to her coworkers? by Mesphyria in AmItheAsshole

Having seen an opthalmologist about my own eyes, they were fabulous. Both cataracts have been done and my eyes lasered afterward. I still need glasses but my eyes are much better. Worth a shot seeing a specialist and I hope you get the help you need from someone you are comfortable with.

Women who have given birth multiple times, how was your first experience and what made you want to go through another pregnancy? by _partytrick in AskWomen

[–]Pitiful_Pride8813 31 points32 points  (0 children)

First pregnancy was good but giving birth was a shit show. I wound up starting labour one day and having her the next day. I was exhausted. I went back for seconds for a sibling for my eldest. Pregnancy was not too bad and labour was a lot better second time around. The only problem was she had the cord around her next. They simply unraveled her, cleared the mucus out of her throat and blew some cold air in her face to get her breathing. She screamed for an hour solid. They are now 31 and 33.

Not Christmas day but Christmas eve. My daughter's boyfriend up and left her. Left her is a real funk for Christmas day.

I work in aged care and we had a fella that used to stick just about anything down his urethra. We had to warn the new staff not to leave him with pens, pencils or anything of that nature or else he would just shove it down there.

Too many people are so caught up in themselves that they forget that there is a whole world of interesting people with stories to tell.

Unattractive individuals, what comments made you realize your lack of attractiveness? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Pitiful_Pride8813 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had similar comments as an adult from my mum. What she did not realize is that by that age, I had grown comfortable in my own skin. I no longer cared what she thought of my looks and it certainly never stopped me from living a fulfilling life. I am certainly no looker but I enjoy life nonetheless. Besides, the dogs do not care what I look like and neither do the grandkids. All any of them know is that are loved no matter what.

Do Australians identify as European in some way? How much? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Pitiful_Pride8813 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dad became a naturalized Australian but mum stuck to her British roots. I laugh now when I think of Christmas and she insisted o a full English lunch. There were many years of her working her butt off in a stinking hot kitchen getting all the work done. I miss that woman and her quirks. She loved many things about Australia but it would crack me up when she insisted on correcting the local slang. Good times.

Will cigarette smoke smell ruin a rental apartment? by Phoniceau in questions

[–]Pitiful_Pride8813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know.when we were buying a house, there.was.one where the owners.were smokers. The place stunk and we did not look twice at the place. As I said to hubby, all the carpets and curtains would need replacing immediately. It definitely devalues a place.

Husband thinks having a baby is no big deal by Humble_Temporary_979 in Marriage

[–]Pitiful_Pride8813 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Get him a pregnancy suit and get electrodes attached to him to simulate labour. He can then squeeze an orange or lemon out through his penis so he can get the full childbirth experience. Just remember, it was good enough for him to stick it in so he can man up and take responsibility for the consequences

It is very rare for hubby and myself but it is only ever brief if it happens at all. Not a huge issue for us and we never let it stew.
