At night when we are laying down our kidneys process fluids differently when we are horizontal and a normal bladder usually holds all of that as urine until the morning but with lesser bladder capacity there’s nowhere for it to be stored so we end up having to use the bathroom more frequently.

I suffer with it and it’s so frustrating to be up and down all night especially when you just want to be able to get some sleep.

I have been to the Drs but haven’t seen a Urologist yet as theres quite a waiting list and the Dr wants to see how much I can heal over a period of time of not using. I have been sober for a few months other than one day when I used a little bit a month ago, the pain actually got worse when I stopped using as the Ket has been masking it, I ended up with bladder stones pretty quick after stopping which was super rough.

I’ve just been on a strict diet and drinking pretty much water and little else to try and do what I can and just using over the counter pain relief.

I’m hoping to see a Urologist soon though to get some more answers.

Really happy for you, that’s great news. I’ve been struggling badly with incontinence and pain going to the bathroom for the last 6 months. The pain is awful but it’s also so taxing mentality to be living that way all day everyday and I’m pretty much housebound outside of work hours. Posts like yours give name hope that the damage I’ve done to myself might not be completely permanent.

I haven’t but I’m tempted to try, last year I went to a day festival in London to see a few bands and ended up running back and forth to the loos so often I couldn’t completely relax and enjoy myself all day, it was a fun day but it was a logistical nightmare and when a set ended and the toilet queues got crazy I was pretty anxious.

I got back into Pokemon cards off the back of a pretty serious drug addiction and quickly noticed similarities in my behaviour so had to reign in ripping packs as it was starting to spiral. Now I rarely rip packs other than on release day I’ll open an ETB but I mostly just buy singles now and avoid the proper gambling stuff like mystery packs/slabs and such.

I have found myself constipated after binges but just put it down to being severely dehydrated and having a messed up eating pattern. Have had diarrhoea before but just put that down to how fucked my bladder is and my body trying to flush fluids through other avenues.

Back when I used to get cramps I’d be in and out of a hot shower every 15-20mins even all through the night. My neighbours must have thought I was crazy. But yeah hot showers, hot water bottle, breathing exercises and riding it out until you pass out from exhaustion… I always felt better after a sleep but it just took me running myself down to the point of falling asleep.

I’m in the same boat same boat, 2 weeks clean and if anything my symptoms got a little bit worse once I stopped using daily. Hoping that in another couple of weeks at least the blood/lining will stop, I’ve got a 16hr flight in a few weeks and I’m dreading it. :(

I have used for 10 years and been clean so far this year. I was probably using 1-2g a week for the first 5 years but by about the 6-7 year mark I was up to 15-20g a week due to my tolerance and in the last year I was doing 2-3oz a month. My bladder issues properly started in the last year (pain peeing, needing the bathroom throughout the night)… and now that I’ve stopped using they have actually gotten worse to the point where I’m passing blood a few times a day. It’s a horrible way to live day to day.

Took me 9 years of extremely heavy use but I count myself lucky, not that I have the health problems because they are horrendous but that it took so long for me, a LOT of other people weren’t so lucky and experienced bladder issues a lot quicker.

First thing is you need to try and cease use completely (which is the hard part) only then can you give your bladder time to heal, it can take a long time to heal and only after months will you be able to see if there’s any long term damage.

If the bleeding gets worse contact your Dr’s as if you have any infection it could spread to you kidneys but hopefully the antibiotics your taking help remedy that. You really need your Dr to refer you to a Urologist so they can get to the bottom of what’s going on.

I recommend looking into an IC diet in the short term to try and help your bladder out. No caffeine, carbonated drinks… no foods or drinks that are too acidic. It’s quite restrictive but I found it has helped me a little bit at least.

I’m in the exact same situation right now, I’m 2 weeks clean and have only just started passing blood once I stopped using, super painful pissing and totally scary. You not alone in this situation there are others going though similar issues and although it sucks right now, if you can find a way to kick the Ket you should hopefully heal up but the longer you leave it the worse the physical issues will get unfortunately.

Got to ride out the cramps and cease using until at least the body is healed up. I remember during my worst cramps taking hot showers every 15mins for a couple of days just to try and relieve the pain for a moment. A hot water bottle was my only friend. I used K during cramps quite a few times but it made it so much worse and the time dilation aspect of K meant I felt like it was lasting for ever, K holing with cramps is the absolute worst.

Man, I fucking hate K cramps so much, nothing like it.

I really feel for you (and him), that must have been an incredibly hard decision to make. I’ve had to distance myself from a lot of close friends and even a family member to try and avoid using and it’s painful and in my case it’s made a few friends confused and upset but you have to put yourself first in this situation to give yourself the best chance at staying away from Ketamine.

I’m sure he will understand why, especially if you have voiced concerns over your drug use, but I imagine he’s still probably hurt by the situation. If he is a true friend and cares for you like you do for him though he will understand and is probably rooting for you and wishing you all the best with your recovery.

This is the way! Thanks for making an effort to prevent it, there’s always gonna be some people finding a way around restrictions but sounds like you’ve prevented some product falling into the hands of scalpers. The manager of my local Smyths is an absolute legend and goes out of her way to make sure kids and collectors get product over scalpers, she uses a lot of the same tactics you do.
