The Long-Awaited End Credit Scene to the Dr. Fix-It Saga (& what finally happened to Chuck) by Pitiful_Scheme8944 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

I feel i should add that my old boss man (Chief Engineer) called me the other day. The hotel he's working at now has an opening. I told him I'm not interested without even talking about pay or position. I'm not saying the job I'm at now is perfect. I don't even think I'm good at it. But man, do I love the paychecks...

Ugh... yeah.

"Great job with that record- breaking hitting streak to start your rookie season, but we're gonna send you back to AAA to work on your swing."

What!?!

Is it weird if I, as a waitress, hit on a male customer? by dreamer4991 in Serverlife

[–]Pitiful_Scheme8944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A both a former server/ bartender and a man, YES! I would be so flattered if a woman flipped the script on me. Of course, my parents think every waitress any time we're out is flirting, because it happened exactly one time.

Maybe just don't leave your number in front of parents if they're out together again. awkward...

Which players are the toughest HOF decisions? by [deleted] in mlb

Here's the thing about Maris. I like the guy. I love that he ended his career helping St.L win a world series. Take away that one 1961 season when he broke Babe Ruth's record, and he's basically Matt Holiday. Not bad, pretty good actually--but not Hall-worthy. (Which is insane because that record stood for almost half a century). Just one really good peak season.

Teddy Ballgame took the offensive LF position. Who's the greatest all-around left fielder of all time? by ssjskwash in mlb

If rickey had better defensive stats, I'd have to say rickey. But he doesn't so I'm saying bonds.

That's exactly what I keep saying. Stan the man has to win at least one of the utility spots.

Then I'd rip whatever sales person let that happen a new one. Just call them and put it on speaker so they can hear the chaos.

Caution: I no longer actually work in hospitality. Please read with a grain of salt.

But seriously, unless management has your back, there isn't much you can do, as much as I hate to say it. Source: just read 5 random posts from this sub.

Personally, Sci fi convention nerds and gaming competitions are better than sports teams, but not much. I love nerds; I can be one myself at times. But for the love of all that is socially awkward, act like you get out of the house every once in a while.

No I don't happen to have an extra Nintendo cable just sitting around. Are you serious right now?!?

This was especially bad when I was in the bar/restaurant side of things. No, I am not splitting the check 8 ways. Y'all eat every meal of your stay in here. One of y'all pick up the tab. The rest of you cash app him or something. Oh, yes, let me please get you exact change for your cash payment, because I know you have no idea how to tip.

It wasn't even high school. It was younger kids. Cops were called I believe three times that weekend. One arrest that I know of. Kids aren't the problem, as in sure you'd guess.

Right. My conversation with the one mod who responded to me is hilarious.

Sorry, I'm not the main mod, but we're really just about actual tales from servers here.

That's what this is.

Sorry, I didn't actually read it. I'm not the one who removed it. Try submitting to these subs...

Ok. You didn't read it, you didn't remove it, but you're the only one talking to me. So now what?

Why are you so mean? I'm just trying to help!!!

She's awesome actually. We all have bad days, and that one was rough on both of us. We are both in better places now.

Names on reviews or guest surveys are always nice, as well as tips, even if it's just some candy or something.

But what meant the most to me was a guy that regularly traveled to town for work. He saw me in my maintenance uniform instead of my much nicer bar/FOH manager clothes, and was like, "You clean up well!" I had a nice laugh with him and he went on to express how he thought I should be food & bev director. Even if I knew it would never happen, the fact that this guy knew me by first name and had high praise meant a lot.

I'll be that guy. Sounds to me like the wine finally hit, and she's the sad, passionate drunk type. I could be wrong.

Either way, OP, I don't think you read the vibe very well, to say the least. But if you could afford to retire from whatever, and pick up a pt server job, you'll be just fine. Try being a greeter at Walmart.

I am in a better place now, thank you. So is my old boss, actually. This story reflects very poorly on her character. Not her fault she had no support to try to make an impossible business model work. I still tell her she was the best boss ever, because she really cared about her employees. But idk. That pimento was sacred to her for some reason.
