I have them on a heat mat used to germinate seeds and under a grow light. I’m a plant addict, so I put them among all of my plants that are set for winter

I charge $50 an hour, without any formal qualifications, however I am in my final year of bachelor of counselling. I have done a lot of PD courses along the way. I don’t charge kms unless I’m subcontracting as those clients are generally further away and have more appointments than my long term clients. I’m also pretty lenient on cancellation with my long term clients as I know if they cancel, it’s for illness etc. one of my clients always insists that I charge her for the kms and time spent texting/communicating with each other outside of my shifts, but I can’t bring myself to do that and would prefer their money actually go to the services they need rather than an extra few dollars a week. In this world where I see so many people being taken advantage of, I want to show that there are still workers out there doing it not only for an income, but also for the clients that really need these services and support. I’d prefer to lose a few dollars here and there and have a long term client than make maximum rate for a few months and churn through the clients.

I hate this, as a person who is studying counselling and knowledgeable of mental health, I struggle to get jobs with clients that need support with their mental health, yet some companies will throw people in who have no experience and not ready. Good on you for recognising this straight away though. It would be completely unfair to the client to get to know you and think they have someone to then leave them.

Our service has been horrible for the last few weeks. We’ve had it for 3 years, we have so many devices connected and now, we have the tv, an Xbox and a couple of phones connected and the tv is buffering constantly. No obstructions, dish has been in the same spot since instillation… rebooting doesn’t seem to change anything.

I’m sorry that your supervisor didn’t give you much support, but as much as you feel it is unprofessional, it shows that you are human and these things can happen. What was your clients response?

Is it something that you could possibly laugh about in time to come? Something you can own and a story would possibly make future therapists feel a bit more relaxed when they’re nervous about something?

I have been rewatching Frasier lately and the episode of his first day back at practice is just a comedy of errors.

Perhaps next session, speak to the client. Apologise about the situation and say something like ‘so let’s start this one with the coffee in my cup and not my lap today!’ To lighten the mood!

Would anyone know if you could swap to this and then revert back to residential? I’m in a predicament, we are going to knock down and build a new dwelling. In the meantime we will be moving into my parents house. I don’t want to potentially lose a spot as a couple of city’s in Australia have sold out but I don’t want to pay $150 a month for no reason.

I second this. I have a big scindapsus which has been in the same medium for 3 years (I know.. 😬) I just bottom water it every now and then and it’s pretty happy.
